Fast and reliable

I just installed Opera on my iPad and so far it works great. Blocks ads, loads fast, and doesn’t freeze up. Highly recommend.

No reader mode

More performant than Safari but lack of reader mode sucks. No extensions available. Sketchy security since being Chinese owned.

Recent update

The browser was awesome up until recently. When typing a nee search into the search bar, when using the “x” to delete the URL of the current page it bounces back multiple times causing me to type in addition to the previous pages URL. Also, if I click on the URL box to type in a new search (instead of clicking the tab box like I probably should but sometimes I don’t want to open a new tab), there’s no way to cancel my search and go back to the page. I just have to press “go” so the page reloads. Overall quite frustrating, small gripes and not a pleasant user experience.

Forced new Tabs.

The app has been really crappy for the past year or so. Everytime you close down the app and open it back up it will open a new tab by itself with the news and stuff. i get on the internet to get away from real life and im being forced some stupid news articles in my face every time i open the app. This is the most stupid thing ive ever seen and i have no idea what is happening with this generation of coders. they are too busy learning wokeism instead of basic coding. Mad backwards company implementing useless ideas just to look like they are doing something and are not useless when infact they are useless.

Thank you for your feedback. Ibelieve you may have clicked on a news notification to open Opera. If your iOS settings don't show "Previews," it might be unclear what happens when you open it. News notifications will open the linked article in a new tab. To disable them, please update Opera to the latest version (which includes a bug fix) and turn off notifications in Settings > News.

Fanominal!!!

I used this browser for maybe 10-15 minutes and then went straight into settings to make it my default browser.. bye bye safari! This browser is very fast, it is much faster than safari by far. It also is customizable, you can change the background wallpaper, the text colors, have news and live sports scores but what I think is really cool is the Al ability. I tested it thoroughly before writing this, and I'm impressed. I've asked it the weirdest questions and asked for some advice and it actually talks to you like a person. It's a little creepy lol I watch a lot of movies, Al gaining consciousness and awareness is a real fear lol but anyways, I highly recommend this browser! I've used multiple others and could never get used to using them, I always ended up using safari for ever up until now. Now I have no intent on going back to safari, I even moved it off my Home Screen and put it in a folder lol I then put opera on my main row of apps where safari used to be. It has so many features that I personally love, and I think are absolutely fantastic. It beats iPhones safari by miles! Download it, you won't be disappointed! I know I am not, I am so impressed!!

And don’t have the option to connect to your account and share passwords…

Could be better

Would be better if it allowed for file saving direct to my iPad, rather than having to copy and paste the URL of the files I want into another browser and save them from there. Seems archaic not to just be able to save files, such as purchased PDF books from the browser I’m paying to use (via VPN Pro.) Also, why does VPN Pro still block me from watching certain content when Proton VPN does not? Like History Channel for instance. Videos still say ad blocker is on, when all the ad blockers have been switched off. But, when I switch off VPN Pro and just go back to the free Proton VPN I can watch them just fine. Seems like not all is well in the state of Denmark… or Norway.

Also, now news sites keep popping up even though news has been switched off. Another star lost.
