Our family loves our Yotos. They bring countless hours of entertainment for our family. Yoto is always trying to improve and make the best experience for users/customers. I am extra excited about the latest app update making it even easier to listen to Yoto through Apple car play🙌

Love this device

I bought a Yoto after seeing an ad on Facebook. I love audiobooks and loved the idea of a similar experience for my son. I love that Yoto is constantly updating the app and the devices without forcing existing customers to purchase a new device to get the upgrades. I like that it grows with my son. As he gets older, I can set an alarm to get him used to waking up on his own. I can set a sleep timer so he can listen to a story as he falls asleep. The available books are always added to (HELLO! Doctor WHO!!). Would love to see more YA books make an entry.

Amazing player

If your thinking of getting a yoto player just do it! It’s amazing and even the app has amazing free content. This is one toy I’m very impressed with.

Impossible to connect

Love the idea of this but it’s nearly impossible to connect and get online. The app is super glitchy for getting it set up. Gives you 3 seconds to type in 16 character WiFi password, constantly gives out “unable to join Yoto network. Try again” message. Took me 3 days of switching off, restarting player and phone - reinstalling the app, etc. Won’t let you copy and paste WiFi password into the app - have to manually type in every character which then times out when you do with “failed to connect”. Both my husband and I tried to connect to the player at least 50 times before we were successful (we are both very tech savvy). Spent hundreds of pounds on cards so had to make it work - but in this day and age - the connectivity issues are very disappointing. The player itself is good once connected but the headache of getting it online is almost not worth it.

Hi kiryushyna - sorry to hear that. This isn't the normal experience and that sounds like your player is dropping the setup connection which can be for a variety of reasons: in phone settings, 'Local network' must be enabled for the Yoto app. The player might also be receiving interference from a nearby baby monitor that's interrupting setup - try setting the player up somewhere else in your house. Offline Content

The player is great, my issue is with the offline content. In the event of a network or power outage you won’t be able to play anything that isn’t already downloaded to the player. You should be able to download your purchased cards within the app so that you can use Bluetooth to play them if they aren’t downloaded to the player. If I can’t access my library when the internet is unavailable then I feel I should look for content elsewhere

Missing features and can be buggy.

I do like the yoto player. The kids adore their players and we use them daily. However, the app has always been a bit buggy, and also it’s missing a few features. My two biggest bugbears are:

I’d love it if you could set different times for the morning light to come on - as it stands, it’s just one time all week. School day wake ups are different to weekend wake ups.

Streaming stories from the app is a nightmare as it doesn’t download it to the phone, or buffer it. If it switches to a new chapter and we’re driving through some where without signal, then the story stops, and then suddenly there’s two small children in the car getting very grumpy. Even in areas of strong signal it can sometimes just not work when switching to the next chapter.

The Best Genius Invention Ever!!!!! 🙌🏻

This is by far, the best device I have ever invested in, so well worth it all!! 🤍 My little one has been enjoying it daily, keeping herself entertained. There are so many benefits to it — plus, it has drastically improved her playtime, imagination, creativity, vocabulary, spontaneity, you name it! She is a bubble of joy enjoying it all, spending her hours listening intensively while she plays in her own little world — My only regret, not getting it much sooner!! She looks forward to each month for the darling subscription of new cards in her name, which adds to all the charm in using this, growing her own adorable library. Bedtime is lovely — the sleeping sounds off your own phone app connected to the device are sweet. You won’t regret investing in this!! It’s perfectly lovely for the whole family… X

Such a shame it’s glitchy

The yoto mini player is great and my son is enjoying the stories. However, it needs Wi-Fi to work making using it on the go hit and miss. Trying to add new Wi-Fi connections is very variable. Currently in a holiday home where it won’t even connect to the app, let alone let us set up a new Wi-Fi connection. Using the app to listen to the stories on my phone is also unreliable, some days it just doesn’t acknowledge any of the cards we have meaning we can’t listen that way either.
