New version is awful

Just go back to the original, there was nothing wrong with it. It's as if they are beta testing it on the users. The old one had better colors, was easier to read, and you could see all the data without having to scroll. The new app, if it doesn't crash, won't load data. The display is all messed up - you have to scroll up and down to see things so you cannot compare various parameters directly, and when you try to expand the timeline it just tracks everything across the screen so you cannot read it. Overall, bad effort.

Worked great until the latest update.

My ring has worked perfectly until last night. When I turned it and the app on, the alarm on my cellphone sounded continuously. I discovered that my thresholds were no longer set. When I tried to set them, the app would not let me. Without the thresholds set to my appropriate numbers, the alarm blares constantly. Also, the “sound on device” was toggled to the off position. I have always had it turned on. The app will not let me toggle it back to on. I’ve tried to contact customer service several times. No reply. January 27, 2023.

New app deletes data if you don’t use their cloud

I use a SpO2 sensor that communicates with this app. The app then uploads the SpO2 measurements to Apple Health. So far so good. That has worked fine since I purchased the device in October ‘22. The app was updated yesterday (Dec 18,2022) and to use it today I was forced to enter personal demographic information and create a cloud account to backup my data. The privacy claims in the app store must be false now because the information they use to create the cloud account is personally identifiable (name, age, weight, height,…). All this for what appears to be a minimal change to the app. In the current era of business selling users private data this change makes one wonder about why such a change is being forced on users.

After a month waiting for the developer to tell me if I could simply not use a cloud account because I don’t need it, I just went and deleted the account and ALL of my data were deleted. Very frustrating, but at least in my case I have the data in Apple’s Health app.

If I had not paid a good amount of money for the SpO2 sensor I’d stop using the device and app. Hopefully they aren’t taking the data anyway.

Lost data

Hours of data are wiped.. i do not recommend this product since the application is very messy

Request timed out error

App was updated 1 week ago. Now it wants you to enter User information (height, weight, age, gender) before you can proceed to use the app with your device. I provided info, selected Done, and all I get is a “request timed out” error. You cannot proceed any further until the User info is accepted. This is unacceptable and needs to be fixed ASAP. You cannot see results of monitoring your blood O2 levels overnight using oximeter ring. Also- selecting app support from App Store takes you to an Asian site that needs to be translated. Ridiculous. Fix now! I’d give zero stars if I could…

Was Amazing, now less so

I agree with others that the new upgrade is a backwards step. Before the upgrade, I would’ve rated the app and device ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️. It’s saved my moms life several times since October by alarming us when her oxygen dropped. Now with the app upgrade, I feel like it’s gotten too fancy for itself. The oxygen and HR scores are so small it’s hard to see…let alone in the dark. The alarm button is hard to turn off because that’s gotten smaller as well. But there’s room for 3 giant graphs. I feel like the data is harder to compare episode to episode. I hope the developers fix the dashboard numbers and alarm at the very least.

Does not work

I’ve used this app for a year. It provided the data that I used to better understand the feedback from my CPAP device.

Then everything changed, the data logged for my O2Ring disappeared from the app. There is a page to add my O2Ring that does not add it. The app is useless and confusing. The history I get is a list of days with an O2 number which used to be available but which is useless to me. There is a button called “adopt” which doesn’t do anything! I used to get a graph which showed the O2 levels throughout the night so I could see when my O2 levels dropped to dangerous levels. Now I get absolutely nothing of any value. I wrote the team and they said they fixed it. I don’t know what they fixed but it didn’t help me. I am angry that they could just change the app like that, without notice to users, and worse that they could do so without capability to restore the previous version when the new version failed.

Useful but now lacks detail

The latest update has really improved usability. Unfortunately it has also spoiled the detail provided. The view, especially of an ECG is now almost useless because it has been so compressed and the detail lost. The export is a little better but still not as good as previously.

New app is unreadable and buggy

The previous app was quite acceptable. The latest interface is ugly, unreadable, a terrible waste of space (excess scrolling) and buggy.

- Going from a dark blue background to white background was a terrible decision.
- tiny & pale grey font on white is appalling (who do you think your market is for a device like this? And how optimal do you think their eye sight is?!)
- so much less info fits on one screen, have to scroll to see crucial data
- can’t pinch/drag the graph to zoom in on alerts without first clicking another button
- if you do try to zoom in, it’s useless anyway as one alert triangle will become 10s-100s of overlapping triangles.

And last, but absolutely not least, it will corrupt or mis-display your existing data.

There is not a single good thing that can be said about this version of the app. It is so bad as to render the Wellue O2ring useless.

If you have the app already, do NOT “upgrade”. If you don’t have a device DO NOT BUY one, this software is terrible.

I would give this app 0 stars if I could

Do not buy a Wellue 02ring, this app is so terrible that it will render your ring useless. The ring itself is quite good, but the software is so terrible that the ring will not be useful to you for tracking data over time to share with your doctors. The most recent upgrade, which I was forced to allow to access my data, both contaminated my data AND is unusable. After over two months of diligently tracking my data to share with my respiratory physician it's now useless. Do not trust this company with your health data.
