Clunky, too limited

Good graphics, but the isometric layout obscures too much. The turn-based mechanics do not work well with this game, overly simplified to the point of clunkiness. Combat is muddled, like they didn’t play test it adequately. Accomplishments are sadly underwhelming and rewards aren’t worth the effort. Like several other Apple Arcade games this seems to be made by programmers who don’t fully understand how to craft a decent game. Wish there was some way we could provide feedback before these mistakes are finalized and put on the Arcade, because by then it’s too late and they have no reason to improve.

Fun once you get the hang of it

Really enjoying the challenge once you get to the medium sized board. Definitely a bit of a learning curve; had to figure some stuff out as I went along. But have replayed many times today; bit addicted.

Wish for a few improvements:

1) Wish the help/rule book in settings had more info such as a list of all the icons (like the icons on the weapon cards for damage, accuracy, etc) and what they mean
Even if some of the tutorial stuff info was put here as I skipped some and missed it and just had to work things out for myself.
Though I’ve now realised you can redo the tutorial but it still doesn’t explain everything.
Like for example I didn’t know I could delete stuff from my inventory once it was full.
Eventually worked it out.
But for the first few play through’s just thought once I maxed it out I couldn’t search anymore cards in rooms.
And another example is I couldn’t work out why I couldn’t roll dice for bullets sometimes; but apparently you can’t do that in the shadow areas. Would have been nice if this sort of stuff was explained clearer.
Another example is I didn’t understand what the flashlight item did; eventually worked it out too once I figured out the above of not being able to roll for bullets in the shadows, but could have been clearer if there was a better description of what the item was meant for somewhere.

2) Would he nice if you held down on things it might give you some more info: such as enemies to see how many hit points they have left or how much AP they have per turn for quicker reference. Or the items as mentioned in the above points. If I held down on an item it could give me a more in-depth description.

3) Wanted to see what the experience was like on Apple TV. Cursor moves way too slow with both an Apple remote and a connected ps4 controller. Need to speed it’s movement up or be able to adjust it in settings because the pace of the game becomes tedious and makes you not want to play.

Look forward to what’s to come 🙂

Good game. If you like the genre.

If you couldn’t appreciate dice based rpg games before than this isn’t the game for you. Every time you complete the campaign it unlocks more elements. So far I’m enjoying it.

Excellent

This one is my favorite of the Apple Arcade games. Really solid strategy boardgame feel. I would be interested in more content and maybe some story.

Single-sitting fun

Good strategic fun. Enough chance to keep things tense, but enough strategy and diverse options to keep it interesting. I would love to see another level of difficulty since I managed to get to level 15 (max) without losing a character, but still lots of good fun for one person.

New to this type came and Love it

It’s a board game type I’ve always wanted to try but wasn’t sure if I’d pick up. Thanks to the tutorial it was an extremely easy learning curve and turns our fun to play. What a gem! Keep up the great work!

Potential to Be Better

This game has a really solid core, but after a few games I’m having trouble finding a reason to keep playing. There’s no story beyond what little is given in the game description. I’ve unlocked a few monsters and skills, but nothing game changing. It seems as though more board sizes and characters will unlock in the future, but at this point, I have no interest in yet another round with the same two characters on another tiny board. Without a preview of upcoming unlocks, It would be two more games or twenty.

Best game on Arcade!

This game is literally a board game in your phone similar to Stranger Things. You can unlock characters, weapons, items, and more!

I would like to see more of everything, but it’s solid as it is already.

devs: One note, I give the vet a distance weapon and she does treat distance as 0.....

Interesting Board Game

This is obviously a game around Stranger Things but using the underpinnings of Zombiecide which is a board game.

It have really enjoyed this for the last few days and progressed up to Medium setting but today I have tried to start a game and oddly my progress has disappeared so I have had to restart, May be a little glitch or just me.

Whilst this is disappointing the gameplay is fun and immersive.

I have still rated 5.

Great tabletop vibe.

The game does a fantastic job of capturing the feel of an 80s tabletop game, with some obvious upgrades. Great for quick gaming sessions. (Like the old tabletop games, you're not going to find a month-long RPG experience, here, so don’t judge it by that standard.)
