  • Much better now.

I now know how to go into profile settings and then preferences and delete all your old trip that are recorded. It’s weird that it’s buried here instead of right at the main section where you can see the history of your trips, but there should be a select all button there I feel so you can delete them much easier. The developer did reach out though. There wasn’t a clear way listed to begin with but now that I understand it, I am-rating the app higher.

Hello Lane, Thank you so much for your feedback! Our app is set up a little differently to encourage the preservation of trip backups in to our Driver Cloud with a Driver Premium subscription. To delete trips from your trip gallery, we provide 3 options: Manually delete them by swiping left in the trip gallery. Note this will also delete trips from your Driver Cloud if you are using Driver Premium. In Driver>Profile>Settings, there is an option called auto-delete where you can set how often to delete trips. We recommend this, as the app can automatically remove old trips and keep newer ones, but always assuring your device has plenty of space to record! This feature also allows time for trips to sync to the Driver Cloud if you have Driver Premium, and trips in the Driver Cloud will remain once the trips from the app have been deleted, providing you a backup for 90 days! If you do wish to delete all trips in the gallery, we do have that option, but it is rather hidden! If you open Driver and go to Profile>Settings>Preferences>Delete all data, this will remove all trips currently saved in the Driver app's trip gallery. We do not encourage this as trips that have not fully synced with your Driver Cloud account will be deleted as well, preventing you from having a backup of all your trips. I hope this is helpful! If you have any additional questions or feedback, we would love to hear from you. Please email us at support@trydriver.com. Thanks again!
  • Using on my pedal cycle

After trying 7 different dash cam apps this is my favourite. It seems the most reliable and has some features I really like. I have found it runs really well in the background with other apps such as podcasts and music running.

I would give it 5 stars if it had the option to choose between wide and ultra wide camera. Currently it is locked to wide.

For further UI polish it would be nice if we could clear the onboarding message on the Home Screen.

  • Why should I allow always track locations?

I have been using Driver as my dash cam for over 2 years now and I have loved it! So much better than all my old dash cams that just break and can’t review my videos. In the most recent update, your app is asking me to allow “always” on locations. I don’t understand why you need this permission? What are you doing with my lcoations? Are you tracking all my locations all the time and sharing it with insurance companies?

Hi there! Thank you so much for all those great questions and for being a longtime Driver user! We created Pocket Drives to provide you with complete coverage and to address our number #1 feedback from users: forgetting to mount Driver in dash cam mode. We've done quite a lot of research into how telematics data (speed, acceleration, G-Forces, GPS) can be used to recreate the events of an accident and to prove fault. Thus, even if you're unable to use Driver in dash cam mode, you will have the data you need to corroborate your story! And in order for this feature to really serve its purpose (protecting you when you forget), with locations on "always allow", we use the same technology Apple uses to detect if you're driving to start a Pocket Drive. That's all it's used for! We have no interest in knowing what you're up to. All telematics data will be packaged into the same trip view UI that you know and love (just without the video). We also love that you brought up privacy! While building this feature, privacy has been top of mind. In fact, we want to be the vanguard for telematics privacy. Instead of the traditional arrangement with insurers, where they have access to all your data through their own mobile apps/dongles, we want to shift the power back to you! You have the power to share your trip with insurers through the Driver Cloud, and they do not have access to it without your permission. We really appreciate the thought you've provided to your questions and hope this helps address your concerns! If you have any follow-up questions, feel free to message us at support@drivertechnologies.com.
  • Skeptic?

I’ve enjoyed hundreds of different apps since the 2007 inception of iOS.

Never before have I felt the need to congratulate a developer on a job well done; as it’s my humble opinion: a job is not worth doing if it can’t be done right.

Driver however is SO incredibly well done, I’m embarrassed i looking into physical dash cams at all.

Usability: the app itself is straightforward and wonderfully designed. In all honesty, skip the tutorial and go straight to the app— navigating the tutorial was more confusing than the app itself.

Features: base app is loaded to begin with, add the 4.99 premium and you’re upgraded to the cloud which can store videos as well as make trip summaries, driver assistance features such as object identification and crash warning… and literally what blew my mind: if you provide your address, they’ll mail you a car mount. A FREE car mount. A free COOLING car mount to prevent your phone from overheating in the windshield. I expected the thing to arrive in six month given the price point… it arrived in three days.

Quality: I’m downright flummoxed how they’ve managed to accomplish recording simultaneous high quality feeds with limited storage space required. About 6 hours of dual-cam fed footage is equivalent to 2 gigs on my phone.

Wishlist: just one (which says a lot because I got needs)…you can identify people, you can identify buses and cars… how bout an alert when the light turns green?

Hello, and thank you so much for the kind review! I have ensured the developers got to read this and pat themselves on the back! We love our product, and get excited about improving it to make the best tool we can for drivers. A lot of work goes into these features, and hearing that they are appreciated means the world to us! Driver's ability to identify objects has endless possibilities in what we can do with it! In time, we can work towards identifying objects that we believe increase the safety of the Driver, such as traffic lights. We hope to hear any additional feedback you may have by emailing us at support@drivertechnologies.com. Thank you again!
  • Works well

I have enjoyed using this for a few weeks. Pretty good except that the video is a bit of a post box slot, and worse if you use the rear view too.

Recently it has started crashing within 5s of opening. Contacted the developer and they were very helpful. Working again now.
  • Dunno

Stop asking how I rate the app when I’ve just downloaded it. I don’t know how good it is. So I gave it one star.
  • Free use

One of the best app to use if your a new driver and looking for something for free. Keep it up
  • It’s good BUT!!

I first started using this app about a year ago. Due to me have way to many saved videos it’s was starting to run slow( so I thought). I would have taken days to delete all of them ( even though it should be deleted after 30days it wasn’t) so I decided to just uninstall the app and reinstall it. After installing it and using it for a couple of days I noticed I was still taking long to open the app and start recording when I start a drive. Didn’t think to much of it. I also noticed that they took away showing what your speed was your driving. They took away the forward collision warning as well, but I can live with that. It the speed they took away is why I gave it 3 stars and now is super slow to do anything. I thought about the subscription but if the app is this slow I’m not willing to pay for it.

Do better Drive you had a really good dash cam now is ok

Hello, and thank you for the review, and for being a long-time user of the app! The features including active speed and forward collision alerts are now available in Driver Premium, our subscription offering. We did this so we can continue offering and improving the Driver app! The app running slow and trips not deleting has been identified as a bug, and has since been fixed in the latest update. We would love to work with you on improving your experience with Driver! Please email us at support@drivertechnologies.com and we can further assist in making this work for you!
  • Lots of bugs

Used this for a few weeks. At first the very shaky images. Could do with some image stabilisation.
    Then had a big trip.
When I went back through image file. Only a few minutes had recorded. 😡😡😡
  • Speedometer

No complaints love the app. My only suggestion is can y’all display the speedometer while recording
used to have another dash app where it would display the speedometer while driving. other than that, that’s all I have to say, only wish this could happen.
