After the last update, screen rotation to landscape doesn’t work. Other annoyances are that you have to swipe all the way to the last page just to get a cooking tip or recipe option even though you might still be on the first page despite there being a large amount of white space on each page.
Also the order of steps is technically in sequence but it would be handy to know (without having to swipe ahead) where each ingredient ends up, for example you can make a marinade in a bowl before slicing the protein and then put it directly into the marinade rather than slicing everything up, then making the marinade. It would make cooking more efficient which seems to be the main point of Dinnerly.Show lessDO NOT order from this site!
I had to set up an account before I could even look at the recipes. During the set up they ask the general questions of how many meals and when do you want your first box. I set my first box for over 3 weeks away. Before I could even browse the recipes I got a notice from PayPal that I had already been charged for the first box…….I still hadn’t pick any meals! After browsing the meals I realized that my dietary restrictions meant that I couldn’t eat any of it so I quickly cancelled BUT they refused to refund the money they just charged me ( literally 8 minutes earlier) because they “were already preparing my box”. If, as they claim their recipes offer fresh ingredients then how can they already be preparing my box that’s not supposed to ship for 3 weeks. The company that owns Dinnerly is in the middle of a lawsuit and I’m not surprised if this is any indication of their business model. Thank goodness for PayPal! They stepped in and are in the process of getting this issue resolved and my money back.Show lessToo Many Issues
This was my first time ever trying out any kind of meal delivery kit. I work nights and a single mom, so trying to meal plan can be an overwhelming process.
Pros :
The first box was cheaper than most other meal kits that I looked around for.
Cons:
The company charged me before I even placed an order. Other companies let me decide if i wanted the box or not, and when I declined , I didn’t get charged. The site was confusing , and I tried multiple times to edit the meals.
While other sites allowed me to add food allergies, Dinnerly didn’t , and I ended up with meals in my box with lemon recipes. I am deathly allergic to lemons .
I tried multiple times to edit my meals in the time frame I was given, and I was pushed with error codes every time. I cancelled my membership immediately after signing up due to this, but was still going to get my first box regardless.
I got my box today, and the packaging wasn’t separated by meals live I’ve seen other peoples boxes from other companies. I ended up having to throw away over half the box from the lemon recipes, and the lemon touching other ingredients that weren’t packaged individually.
I tried this to save money, and ended up spending more money on groceries to replace what I had bought from Dinnerly that I couldn’t eat.Show less
