terrible customer service

just another modern tech based company that operates a nickel and dime model. rely on the customers to report faults with rides - whilst they are paying for the ride and then waste their time when asking for refunds to encourage them to give up and stop being so petty! dubious environmental creds - i know for a fact that the majority of my beam rides did not replace gas guzzling car journeys - they were rides / journeys i wouldn't have otherwise taken or would have taken on foot.

never heard of beam recovering their vandalised property from nature reserves, waterways or local harbour, but know of a
lot of people who have gone out of their way to prevent this waste leaching lithium and god knows what into the environment.

like i said - take take take.

oh, the app? ok but terrible CS and contact functions or maybe that's just the people behind the app.

Overcharged

The scooters were hard to use. Also, I was not able to start the first one, but still changed.
And after riding the second one, I found that it was overcharging. for 1.6km, it was 7.8rm, not what they claimed 2.5rm to unlock and 0.6rm per kilometer

Beams rock

I recently downloaded Beam after being a frequent Lime user… Honestly, the beam performance is far greater than a lime.. I love how they are a real wheel drive in unit too. There’s a really nice feature where if you hit the gas on and off twice it will accelerate abruptly and you can do some nice wheel stands on the unit.

Rubbish

Have used Lime, Bolt and many other scooter services around the world. This one is awful, the scooters do not work and you need to keep the app open to keep the scooter functioning, awful if you need to navigate the city. Terrible getting support also, navigating their help section is painful.

It over charged me !

I had already spent 10$ on it but then it kept charging me 5dollars every time I stoped I left the house with 60$ and came home with 5.88$ I’m not sure if I’m mistaken it or there’s some sort of problem but please fix it for future reference and also It wouldn’t go uphill for some reason even on flat ground until I ended the trip (-5$) and restarted it (another -5$) thankyouu

Worthless in Kuala Lumpur

With all the restricted areas, beam scooters are functionally useless in Kuala Lumpur.

I love scooters. I love using them to travel around.

I hate when the app strands me in a restricted zone, with no nearby parking spots, and then charges $50 RM.

Beware—you will be stranded in restricted islands using this app.

Never again. Sorry I downloaded this app. Really a waste of time. Should’ve just called a Grab.

A little expensive but good from time to time

The price is a bit much for me, but it’s good to use from time to time when I’m running late

Speed

In Darwin, they go very slow, they need to match other states and go faster

Dodgy app, dodgy gps

App has several problems, which become very annoying if you are relying on Beam for commutes.

The first being that the app often doesn’t acknowledge that you have an internet connection, despite other apps working fine. This means you are delayed leaving.

The second issue is that the app sometimes thinks you are in a no-go zone when you are well beyond the edge of it, resulting in a loss of power and you having to drag the scooter/bike a few hundred metres down the road. You usually need to close the app and restart it for it to refresh.

The third issue is that the app rarely works when unlocking bicycles. Bicycles are faster and more comfortable so you might be inclined to walk a little extra to get to a bike instead of a scooter. But then the unlock just doesn’t work, the app either loading indefinitely or saying it has unlocked the bike without actually having unlocked it. CHARGING YOU FOR MINUTES THAT YOU CANT USE.

Finally the scooters and bikes themselves sometimes lock their wheels at random while you are travelling. Even when you are not near a no-go zone. This is not only frustrating but also dangerous.
