kinda FIXED: purchases do not register: (fix:iOS 14)

ORIGINAL ISSUE
I was trying to get the app to add the trusted networks, and it just ate my money...

it kept prompting me to restore my purchase, but it never actually added the functionality...

i tested on iphone and ipad, both fail to add the functionality of the purchase

update- ios14 fixed the issue (i actually found that suggestion from the developers response to another review)... confirmed working

This is a great app with the added functionality

UPDATE
i had my friend buy the software and update to iOS 14... he is unable to get the functionality of his purchases. it's a great software if it works for you... i give it a 5 star if working, 1 star if it doesn't, and there is no rhyme no reason as to how to make it work.

UPDATE UPDATE
My friend in 2-3 days time had it randomly work... so behold knows why... back up to 5 Stars... just if you buy this, it might take a week to start working

Hi! Version 1.12.0 fixes the issue with your uncredited purchases, which means upgrading the app should do the trick. After confirming the fix, please consider updating your review accordingly. Thanks for your patience! Davide

Great!

I’m a long time user of OpenVPN Connect, but after installing iOS 14, I had the need to look for an alternative. This app is amazing. It does everything the official app does, plus adds capability they said was impossible with iOS. Restart on demand after reboot, keep alive, etc. Having the same app for 3rd party VPN is awesome.

The only issue I have is that NordVPN doesn’t work at all. PIA works great.

Please refresh the add host screen so that adding ovpn files through iTunes shows up. I needed to force close the app to get them to be processed.

Hi, have you checked out version 1.12.0 about refined host importing process? It might well address your concern. Davide

One suggestion, otherwise awesome.

Although its interface isn’t as snazzy as that of OpenVPN’s official app, Passepartout excels where it really counts: functionality. Lots of great features, and works better than the official app. Also, nice name.

One suggestion: Allow the user to edit all aspects of the VPN configuration. Right now, the user must choose from options in a list for some parts of the config. Also allow easier viewing and copying of info about the configuration (sometimes info is cut off with a “...”)

With these minor tweaks, this app deserves six stars.

Passepartout is certainly basic, but is OpenVPN Connect... snazzy? Anyway, I’ll consider your suggestions. Thanks for your comment!

This app offers everything the official OpenVPN app doesn’t

I host my own vpn server at home. This app allows me to keep the vpn connection always on for any network I connect to but automatically disconnects when I connect to my trusted home network and reconnects when I leave home. The fact that I can just set it and forget it is amazing and it’s very weird that this isn’t built into the official OpenVPN app. Please consider buying this application as there is quite literally no alternative and this app should be considered just as viable if not it more viable then the official OpenVPN app.

I really appreciate your review. Enjoy!

Perfect

This is the best OpenVPN app in the App Store.

I hope the developer keeps updating the app despite the failed Kickstarter campaign.

Misleading in regards to features

The app itself is good and the price is basically a cup of coffee but I would have loved to know that the “Shortcuts” actions do not run in the background before I purchased it.

Not stating this is misleading because one assumes that it works, seeing as the switch for “Show when run” is there when defining an action.

I know it’s Apple’s fault but you should disable the switch if you know you can’t make it work until you actually can.

Awesome

Exactly what I was looking for to setup my Pi-hole over LTE and OpenVPN.

Allows manual dns intervention which is needed for Apple devices that don’t respect what the server tells them.

Solid VPN app!

Using a raspberry pi for a VPN/DNS server I was searching for anything that worked better than openvpn connect and found this. Having used it since about a month after it came out I’ve been very pleased and the only feature I wish it had has already been added. Solid app and works great!

- the feature added was the ability to have a password for the VPN profile. I’ve worked in the “cyber” domain for 6 years and love the ease of use. I’ve recommended Passepartout to quite a few people at work.

Hi! What was the feature?

No Gap protection

I really need a setting where you can make it so no network connection can be made if the device is not on a trusted network or vpn. If there is no gap protection the device can’t be guaranteed a vpn connection 100% of the time

Amazing!

I have been using this app for quite a while now and had not had to use any other VPN app.
As soon as I leave my home the VPN kicks in, once I get home VPN disconnects and I do not have to do anything!
I can now take my home adblocking everywhere I go!
