Great App

I have a lot of apps for learning to speak Japanese, but I still struggle with simple hiragana. This app is a really effective tool to be able to realise my hopes of learning Japanese.

Hi Eden, Thanks for giving a try to Scripts, we're happy to hear it helps you to learn Japanese characters! Keep playing and let us know if there’s anything you would suggest us to improve on!

Great but a few problems

This app is pretty useful and can help you memorize characters more quickly, but the “only 5 minutes thing” is a little annoying. I know you can pay your way out of it but it’s too expensive for something that should have been there in the first place. It’s a nice concept but not for me. Also, is there a way to review what you’ve already learned?

Incredible Use of My Time!

5 minutes per day is the best short and efficient use of my language learning time! Especially with a hard language Like Japanese! I’m so grateful for Scripts and Drops! It makes learning Japanese so much more fun, efficient and effective for my busy life style! If you’re trying to learn Japanese or the other languages Scripts provides and you live a busy lifestyle this app is PERFECT for you!!

Very helpful

This app is super helpful for learning languages which use symbol notation and have a difficult differentiation between the sounds of the letters (i.e - Korean and Chinese). It also helps you remember and recognize the phonetic quicker than other language learning applications I’ve used. All in all, Scripts is making it easier for me to learn a new languages and I would definitely recommend it.

Great Job!

I really like how the apps that these created made and how instead of saying the word in your native language first and then saying the word in the other language, it just just says it in the other language. But with this scrips app I would like an option to turn off the romanization so I could just learn how to pronounce without distractions from reading. But over all great work with these apps!

Great start

I’ve only been using to practise hiragana so far, but would love to see:
- support for Apple Pencil on iPad
- exercises at smaller (handwriting) scale
- ability to switch / mix-up font styles - to this beginner computer fonts and textbook fonts for hiragana such as ki, sa, fu, so and yu can look quite different, it would be good to understand the ‘unbreakable’ rules common to any variants
- tutoring tips - going beyond mere pattern tracing, contextual tips explaining the visual rules would be helpful, i.e.stroke 4 should always be longer than stroke 2
- post-exercise analysis - where freeform strokes are shown (rather than within the guide lines), I would appreciate a side by side comparison of my strokes and the ideal lines with discrepancies highlighted

Still the best handwriting app I’ve seen by a long shot. Keep the updates coming!

This is great!!

I only have just started but I enjoy learning Japanese. At the school I transferred to we learn Japanese and I'm super far behind, so I get ds and es. The only problem is I get it wrong for doing the exact thing. ❤️♥️🌹🦄💖💕

Love Love It!

If I could pay the full price I would have in a heart beat. I love the fact that they allow users to use it freely and offer the premium, I think too many applications offer a few “freebies” and then the user at that time doesn’t purchase and soon forgets the application. 🤷‍♀️ This way it continues the use and can allow for more! Love the idea and concept.

Awesome Except for Time Constraint

*This app would be one of the best Asian/language learning softwares out there in the apple App Store, IF it did not LIMIT USAGE to 5 minutes per 10 hours.
:I
**You may as well use alternative apps, and SAVE YOURSELF THE CLUOD/STORAGE SPACE**
:(
*I’m learning Japanese, on an extremely busy schedule. Which means that I want to do as much studying as possible, whenever my agenda allows. It’s truly too bad that this app only allows me to utilize the tools for FIVE MINUTES ONLY. As soon as you gain the momentum to study, it then cuts you off.
*Perhaps the developer believes that people today are too dumb or attention deficient to handle more than 5 minutes a day. Here’s a hint for the developer: your demographic is likely composed of the individuals that are strong willed enough to independently take up a new language in their spare time, rather than game out or mind numb themselves. Give these people some more credit than a degrading assumption that they can only handle 5 minutes of learning, for every 10 hours.
Thanks!

Not sure how correct this is…

I take Mandarin and school, and I understand it pretty well. I’m not sure if there’s a difference because it’s not Mandarin Chinese or something, because several of the words seem to be incorrect.
For example, the app says 又 means also, but technically it means repetitive. 也 would be the correct word for also. This has happened with several other words I’ve seen. Otherwise, it’s a great system and the stroke order seems to be correct.
