Whitewashing pictures
So I was interested in this app and I am very impressed with the pictures that I received. However for one one of the categories, only two of the pictures looked like me. I am a black woman but I’m not sure if this is a glitch or not but most of the pictures in the fantasy category I was basically whitewashed almost making me a completely different person , and the pictures that actually looked like me I almost looked crazy in them. I wanted to give the app at least 3 stars but I can’t excuse the whitewashing. I understand that it is AI but you would think they make it so the app can identify skin tone and create pictures with that in mind. I am most likely going to cancel my free trial and delete the app after saving my photos. I wish I could get my money back from the packs I bought though.

Tricked me into training their AI for free
I was interested to try the magic avatar feature, so followed the instructions and uploaded photos of myself. I was aware that these would also be used to train their AI, but I thought it was worth it to see what it could generate.
It uploaded my photos, and only once it was finished doing so did it tell me I needed to pay to get the avatars. I don’t want to actually spend money for this, but it’s too late to not upload my photos. It seems to me that the developers have deliberately left it until after you’ve uploaded photos before they tell you there’s a charge so that they can train their AI with many more photos than they would have received otherwise. It’s underhanded.

Hi, sorry for the caused inconvenience! To create Magic Avatars, we use complex AI and this requires huge computing power, which is very expensive. For this reason, we had to make this feature pay but hope you will like the results!
A photo app with a difference ?
This app really has something different about it, it works seamlessly and without issues. I would have carried on using it and given it five stars but, they have now introduced a new feature called avatars. You may wonder what this means, well when you pay a yearly subscription for unlimited access to everything and then they now want to charge you extra for a new feature it doesn’t sit right with me sorry. Before I used to recommend this app across to friends and on my social networks now I’ll do the opposite, i understand you need to raise money for development but you can’t charge for something called unlimited access to the entire suit, then subsequently add a new feature and try to charge extra for it. Surely you’d be better off including it in the people’s access that have already paid you, and allowing the free users to try it before they subscribe so it would encourage them to sign up to the full suite. A sad ending to an app I thought was different.

Crashing & Locking Up
I’ve been using this app for about 2 years and love it until recently. After some updates not all the backgrounds worked, they went on top of your picture or didn’t operate at all (they seem to be working now, but I’ve gotten used to switching to another app for my background). As of lately the app will close when I’m editing photos and I have to reopen it. I will get a few more photos edited and it just closes again…very frustrating. I have an IP 8 and shut it down, but didn’t have any affect on the app, it still closes periodically. It also will lock the screen sometimes when saving a picture, but not only the screen, your entire phone. One day it took me like 30mins to be able to shut my phone down, couldn’t get off the saving screen that wasn’t working. I deleted the app and reinstalled. I’m a few weeks in and it locked the screen saving a picture but I was able to get out and went to apps and saw it has an update so updated and it still closes on its own. Love the app, but it gets frustrating with these few glitches, but I do continue to use. Just want to let the creator now the problems I’m having. Recommend this app.

Hello, please update the app to the latest app version 4.3 :) With Lensa you can edit your photo just with a single tap of Magic correction, try yourself as a cartoon character with the Cartoon effect and apply different atmospheric effects, replace boring backgrounds and skies with more expressive options, work with fore and background separately and turn your photos into works of art with new art styles! Also, Lensa has a video section where you can create your mini-movies just in one click :)

Update: As of 6/28 after new versions released by the developer were installed, the app is back to opening and functioning like a champ! I will happily remove my previous comments if things stay like this, I do love using Lensa! Thank you for the quick feedback to my review, it was appreciated.

Glitchy
I love this app and have had it for over a year. The only problem is that I’ve had to uninstall and install the app several times throughout my use so it’ll work since it won’t open up. I then lose all my files each and every time I do that since it’s the only way it’ll open up again. The new video editor I’ve tried to use as well. The app shuts off and I lose my edits during the video and have to restart the app. Very annoying!!!!! Need to fix the glitches and random shut off. Other than that, it’s great!

Update has ruined it
Whatever updates you’ve done to it means it doesn’t work. It won’t even open any of my photos anymore. So I can’t use it at all. Subscription cancelled.

Just one suggestion…
I love this app! You cannot go wrong using this, it’s so user friendly, easy to use and does the job amazingly. My ONLY issue is that the latest update doesn’t incorporate the ability to open a photo straight from ‘photos’ anymore like it used to. On iPhone for instance, you used to be able to select a photo and open that photo in Lensa from options as opposed to going onto the Lensa app and adding photos manually this way, as sometimes it’s difficult to navigate through thousands of photos. I would love this feature to be added back in as I literally did it this way every time I edited a photo.
