  • They screwed up with full screen ads

This was a pretty good app. A therapist because I had surgery in my bocal cords. It was a good little app. It has always has ads but not full screen lousy ads. Now it has and with that they have ruined the app. Thankfully, there are other similar apps with either no ads at all or no full screen ads. So sadly, I am giving this one up. May be I’ll keep it but not use it for a while. I’ll try it again in a few months. May be bu then their sense of greed is gone and they have removed the full screen ads. If not I’ll delete it. Why keep junk in your phone that you don’t need. Am I right or am I right!

    Developer Response

Hiya, it should only be a banner ad for most pages, and a full screen ad on the analyse page (which is limited to once per hour) the adverts help keep this app free.
  • Excellent app with diverse measurements

Had no problems with it at all. I’ve been using it to track my voice changes. 100% FANTASTIC. Thank you.
  • A godsend!

I love this app, so many great features. Thank you so much, you’ve improved my voice work immensely, five stars.
  • Trans voice app good

Very good for those early in transition. Helps a lot, highly recommend. Helped me find my pitch the first two months in, and from there it’s practice.
  • This app changed my life

Literally, it does, as a trans fem with a natural deeper voice, I was never confident in my self to come out until now, until I found this app on TikTok which give me confidence to train my voice and now I am proudly out and happy.
  • Great utilities, perfectly adequate interface

Great app for vocal training, especially for transgender people or people looking to shift their resting speaking pitch. The pitch finder and pitch visualizer are great for creating intuitions about how one’s voice should feel given one’s goals. The spectrogram is likewise very useful for feeling out resonance and the analyzer provides great feedback, even though the model it uses to categorize the gender of voices is by necessity a blunt instrument.

The feature of this app I think is the most important is the automatic recordings that can (and should) be played back, offering immediate feedback. This utility is all the more useful in the analyzer which allows the recording of much longer vocal samples for training and self-evaluation.

Two things I would like to see for this app’s future development are:
    1. A larger corpus of stock text for the analyzer; and
    2. A more pleasing user interface.

While users can input their own text to read for the analyzer, they are better off picking up a book or opening a web browser on another device to read from. A larger set of pre-loaded text would also encourage users to work on their voice generally rather than perfecting it for a passage.

As for the interface, the app currently feels blocky and bland, with additional utilities in a separate non-obvious page (“more”) and no way to rearrange or reorder more commonly used tools. I would like to see a more Apple-y interface.

The app is usually stable during normal use but I’ve found it can crash or become sluggish when interacting too much with the menus (specifically switching screens and going to and from settings at a moderate rate).

  • Pretty good

I love voice tools because of the analyzer. It tells you what percentage of your voice is male or female.

  • Best out there

The beauty of this app is you could actually work it you can say little phrases and then immediately listen to yourself afterwards. Pretty cool.
  • Very useful!

This is a must have for anyone looking into gender affirming speech therapy.
