Bad with two inverters
This app is a nightmare for managing two inverters because neither readings are accurate. I also need to go through the web app to change any settings for priorities on my batteries.
App had gone backwards
Current version now says I am buying power at times, when I am not. If I am my power provider is not showing usage or charging me. Another issue is everynow and then says we have blackouts and when checking with my neighbours there is no blackouts.
Makes you wonder how accurate the app is.

More than on inverter
1. If you run one or more inverters the app is very clunky of identifying the flow of power and usage.
2. Latest update has actually removed the current buy/sold for current day. Only seems to appear the day after now, very frustrating having a feature taken away with an “update”

What is the point of this app?
Easily the most useless app on my phone. It works around about 30-40% of the time when I check it. At all other times it says that there is an error on their end. I can log into the web portal and that seems to work.
However, even if the application is working, it is pretty poor. Usage updates are not in real time, and as a user you are not able to view any diagnostic data nor are you able to really do anything outside of watch the device sell to the grid and buy from the grid at the same time.
Such a great experience.

Needs promised update
Company promised on system install, January they would roll out a new app. This app is useless with 2 inverters 1 battery setup that they recommended. Says we are buying power then we are not. Doesn’t combine generation. Phone support can’t help. Constantly says we are using 4kw when we are not. Says 1 bank there is a blackout and there isn’t. Please fix.

Owner
This app is the most frustrating app I have. I have to sign in just about every time I want to use it. When are you going to update it Redback???
Time for an update
This app is working ok for me, but that has limits.
In any case, this App is being left behind by developing changes of usage in society.
It annoying to see the app telling me that I’m buying electricity even when I’m producing more from my panels than I’m using. Also, often shows that we’re selling electricity inappropriately too.
The granularity of the presented data is insufficient. Many people, especially as Electric Vehicles (EVs) become more prevalent, want to manage their usage on a time of use basis to take advantage of the different rates available.
For example, my electricity retailer gives EV owners free electricity for two hours on each of Saturday and Sunday and at other times on off-peak rates. It would be helpful if we could see our historical time of day usage and manage the battery modes through the app.
The portal allows battery mode management, but the scheduling capability there is cumbersome.
It’s past time this app was updated to keep up with users, or better yet to get and stay ahead of evolving needs.

Constant connection errors
I had a new system installed on Monday and set up this app on Monday afternoon. It is constantly having connection issues and basically unworkable. What an absolute waste of time this app is.There is not one positive review so obviously no serious effort has been made to rectify this. I will be telling the company I have gone through not to use Redback.

Very useful App to see how the solar systems working in real time
Power consumption graph now missing
It had our usage all tracked, that information is gone. Perhaps testing applications before deployment? Just a thought. I am in IT. Let me know if you need more advice.
