Not good for iPhone bike routes

I tried multiple times to load routes for cycling, but when I went to load the map it just got stuck with the keyboard loaded and there was no way to get out of that view. All I could do was quit out of the app and start again. I tried this multiple times and was never able to load a cycle route. Shame.

Want myki top up back

Was using this to top up myki conveniently. Liked it because it could save my card and payment method. Website not convenient and PTV app’s new myki top up cannot save card and payment :(

Response from developer

Hi there, Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review. The decision was made to remove this feature as myki top-up is not something we're able to support technically within the app anymore. However, we have taken the time to improve the other public transport functionality in arevo, including live departures info, disruptions and journey planning. We hope you’ll find this helpful for your public transport trips. Thanks, Emma

A really good app but best feature was Myki top up

I wasn’t expecting much and already had several journey planners. I downloaded this for the Myki top up feature so am disappointed it has gone. But in general I found the app much better than I had expected. It replaced my parking app but it is a bit limited for someone in regional Victoria.

Response from developer

Hi there, Thanks so much for taking the time to share your feedback on arevo. We are constantly looking for ways to improve the app so we appreciate your suggestion to expand parking info for regional Victoria. Unfortunately, we are no longer able to technically support myki top-up in-app so this is why we removed the feature. We hope you'll find the new public transport functionality - quick glance live departures and disruptions info, line filtering and platform numbers - helpful! Thanks, Emma

Terrible app and service

Debited my account three times for one top up. I thought the other two debits would be credited back automatically. That didn’t happen. Then I sent them a message with a snapshot of the debits. No response. I followed up and they said I had to contact PTV myself as they don’t hold the money. Their faulty app debited the amount thrice and they took zero responsibility. Spoke to PTV who said money can’t be refunded, it is sitting in the myki. They also said NOT to use third party apps, a decision I had made immediately after the poor service I got. Uninstall!

helpful

Very helpful to be able to see all of my myki balances and have notifications when my pass expires. I wish that I could choose to hide myki’s, or at least order them so the one I frequently use is at the top and the spares at the bottom. Also wish i could see info such as when card was last used and whether it is touched on or touched off.

Top up is not instant

Balance showed was not correct. It said I have 2.1 dollars but reality was it was -3 dollar something. Then I got off the tram and topped up and got in the tram again and turned out top up was not instant and balance was not updated. Went to 7-11 to top up at the end and missed the tram and waited for another 30 minutes for my next tram. Interesting, even after I topped up from 7-11. The balance in this app was still not updated. Such a useless and misleading app.

Difficult to use

1. No clear instruction of myki top-up
2. The page of adding credit card looks funny. I couldn’t even find where to type in my credit card number
3. Not linked to Apple Pay, not handy
4. After Almost 30 minutes, finally I top-up my myki, I couldn’t use it. It’s been declined by the machine.
5. I would rather set a reminder to top up my myki in shop than using this app

Response from developer

Hi there, Apologies for your experience. Just to address your myki troubles - unfortunately we are subject to the same system limitations as myki online top-up, which means that your money may take up to 90 mins to land on your card. You can set low balance notifications within arevo by tapping on the dots in the top right corner of the myki card. Hope this helps! Cheers, Max

A pleasant surprise !

What surprised me the most about this app was how fast and easy it was to use and that the loading times when it searched for the best route to get to my destination.

As others have mentioned the myki top up feature is a huge bonus too since we cannot use Apple Pay over here to top up and use the card on our iPhones just yet.

Overall a great starting point for this one and look forward to seeing how it’s improved upon in the future 👍

Transport my way!

Love how you can set up your profile based on your transport preferences. I cycle and use public transport a lot. The app knows that and gives me the best options for both vs car etc. The Myki top up feature is also awesome.

Arrival times need work

The app is skewed for public transport. My 29 minute commute by car to work is consistently showing as 56 minutes and is the second option behind a 54 minute commute by public transport. When I click on driving instructions and go to either Apple Maps or Google Maps, both apps confirm 29 minutes. If you can get more accurate drive times, I may try again.
