    Should offer a trial month before asking people for payment. I’m not paying to sign up if there may not even be others on the app in my area…

  • Agreed with the other review: deceptive

    I got excited to see how the app works and how many people are around the area to play with. I understand charging the membership fee to at least contact people. But outright creating a barrier that won’t let you proceed without payment. Was a bit of a let down… at least tease a free trial for a month or something to see if you like it too?

  • Not worth it

    Have to pay to see other players.
    So after I Paid for a subscription I find out there was no other players nearby. Total waste of money.
    I contacted their support and never got a response.

    I am sorry to hear there are not many players near you. RacketPal has become a paid app after 2 years of serving everyone free. Unfortunately, we cannot remain free forever, however much we would like to. We are taking in user feedback and we are thinking of ways to improve player experience. Our goal is to build a community after all. We reply to all emails within 24 hours usually. If there was any delay, I apologize.
  • Not a free app

    Not be able to see whether there are players near me or not without subscription. After subscribe, you find out there is 0 players nearby, feel fooled. Then what the heck do I need the app for. Terrible app.

  • Locked behind a pay wall with new update

    Opening RacketPal for the first time in a while as I’m traveling for the holidays and hoping to set up a match while I’m away from my home town where I’ve never been able to find an opponent, and I’m now locked behind a pay wall. I’ve never successfully used this app despite it looking promising. I was hopeful to finally use it to set something up this week while in a bigger city, but I’m unable to access the app without purchasing the subscription. I won’t pay for something if I’m still unsure it works. Hopefully I can find an opponent going to open play, but I’m frustrated that I’m not able to even view the app anymore.

    While I’m criticizing, I live in central Texas and I’d happily travel to play badminton to Dallas or Austin (~90 miles), but the search radius will not go that far. I’m also worried that I’ll miss any potential opponents because the system locks me into only 3 experience levels. I’ve been putting intermediate, but I’d happily play with experts or beginners, I’m just hoping for a match. I know RacketPal is based out of the UK so traveling 90 miles (145km) in a day may seem impractical, but there’s hardly any courts where I live and I’m eager to play.

  • Deceptive

    I’m really interested in this app but it doesn’t let you see who’s available in you’re area before signing up for a month’s subscription. I’m not paying until it proves to me there’s active players in my area. This should be a given. A free sub for a month, or at least showing how many people who are active before you commit to paying.

  • Rubbish - bait to pay

    App makes you spend significant time completing profiles and then doesn’t let you proceed unless you pay a monthly subscription fee. Absolute garbage

  • Develop a free entry sponsored level version

    Develope a advert sponsored entry levelversion first time player customer version for those without money or young to get the numbers and age for the sport up& younger age first



    Needs a lot of work they need to consider a advert sponsored based version possibly for theirs do you or just entering the sport but I’m keen such as that is who may be interested in buying equipment like tennis clothes racket etc first time players as that would make more sense as not everyone would want to immediately spend money on just an app or have the money to subscribe long-term but certainly be willing to play so a free version sponsored with adverts like Spotify or YouTube do make sense if trying to make way or space into a new market audience along with a new space time age day

  • Deception - Paid Only

    Seemed like a great idea, completed the whole registration process, only to find a lengthy annual/monthly payment screen. Wish you guys would include a trial period or a free version (with Ads) for students like us who can’t afford to pay 10s of dollars each month, not even knowing what is inside the app.
