Deceitful, be weary of “Free Trial”
Authorised card for subscription after trial. Noticed after money had already been removed from my account and subscription activated without any trial. I only authorised on the basis I could cancel if I didn’t like it or the money would come out of my account in 7 days. This has left me short on cash. Disappointing as first impressions of the app are very good but I feel like I’ve been totally deceived which makes me weary to deal with this company at all. Highly disappointed

I’ve had the app two months and this is the third time it has deleted all my finished book history and books saved for future reading.
To cancel this app is anything but simple. Tech support sends you a canned email to go within your apple account to unrenew the subscription. It wasn’t listed as a subscription! I had to click a link from an email on my desktop, then navigate to a page to unsubscribe. In the meantime, support marked my ticket as resolved without ever checking in with me to see if that was the case.
And most annoyingly, the summaries are varying degrees of WORD SALAD. For me, the app worked best as a screener tool. I listened to summaries, then decided if I wanted to read the entire book. For me, I found that about one in ten books were ones I wanted to read from cover to cover. It’s sad to think I could have missed out on books that the app didn’t summarize in a helpful, sensical way. (Note to book publishers — you might want to beat apps like this to the punch and write summaries that promise what this app did.)
