  • Worst LED app

    I have both Kessil AP9X and 360X. I use the app for ap9x and spectral x controller for 360x. The app is very difficult to configure and connect to WiFi. The 1% light setting is 20x brighter than compare to spectral X controller. If ap9x loses power, it’s not simple to reconnect. I’m a computer tech over 20years experience for large major corporates supporting 10000+ people so I’m rate myself technically capable. I had to test and try several ways to connect WiFi. It’s not easy. Need huge improvement.
  • 100 dollars for garbage

    You have to go through an extremely rigorous process to connect the light to your phone or
    WiFi. Very annoying especially with its cost.
  • Poor Quality Control

    Does not work well after recent update. Cannot connect to dongle reliably.
  • Update has messed up app

    App used to work flawlessly for my three a360x with WiFi ans since recent update the app kicks me off if I try to make changes to my lighting schedule.
  • App freezes and crashes after dongle firmware update

    I liked the app before, although the UI wasn’t completely intuitive (selecting lights and programs from menus hidden below and to the side...) - it’s usable with help from the community, and once you understand how they coded it (which still is awkward) then it works.

    The WiFi dongle firmware update seems to break the app. I can get into the menus, but the moment I try and change any setting - the app crashes.

    UPDATED: deleting and reinstalling the app fixed the bug issue. Deleting app did NOT affect my programming settings - everything worked perfectly upon reinstall

    Hi there, thank you for your comments. We did discover a bug in the app programming page that caused the app crash. If you re-download the app the issue should disappear. We are also working on an update to fix some minor miscellaneous bugs and improve performance. Thanks again for using Kessil!
  • Feels like a Beta App

    The connectivity between the app and the Kessil A360X light over WiFi needs some work. It took me several attempts to get the app to connect for the first time. I had to keep selecting retry then hit cancel and it finally connected. First thing I did was update the firmware. After updating, the app would not reconnect over WiFi and I had to reset the dongle and connect it to WiFi again. Eventually, the app connected to the light and I was able to manage it.

    Connecting to the light directly using its WiFi SSID was much more consistent but leaves you without having internet connectivity and the ability to backup your light settings.

    I recently experienced where the app would not connect to the light over the home WiFi again. After multiple retries and reloads, I resorted to resetting the app. Once I logged in with my credentials and selecting reload, it quickly found my light and I could manage it again.

    The app needs a lot more development to address these connectivity issues. I found some graphical issues in the chart when adjusting a manual lighting schedules as well.

    In summary, the app could use more work in the WiFi connectivity. Bluetooth LE would have been a nice option. The user interface could use some polishing as well.
  • Great concept poor performance

    The App itself is pretty user friendly and happy with it but the communication/quick response thru the dongle is a different story. Can get me frustrated at times for the app will freeze and makes things a bit challenging.

  • Can not connect after first time

    1. It has a weird ramping program. If you set the lights to be 0% at 9 and 20% at 10am, instead of ramping up from 9 to 10 in slow increment, it goes from 0 to 20% at 10am and completely dark before 10am. You have to set the lights at 1% at 9am.

    2. This app no longer sees the WiFi dongle after the first day.

    Thank you for your comments. For your first comment , the program design logic is to have a 0% as your last point to turn the light off. Your first point be 20% will still have a gradual ramping up. For your second comment, it could be because of the phone settings. Please reach out to kessil@kessil.com.
