Accelerate for Safari User Reviews

Easy to use but could use some improvements

Using on M1 Mac Mini Safari. Going above 2.25x speed does not work, and the spacebar is inputted as the hot key for play/pause however it only plays or pauses for a split second before going back to what it was, effectively not playing or pausing as intended.

Work Perfect

Works exactly as expected. This is a godsend so I don't have to switch between Safari and Chrome to watch lectures.

If it isn't working for you go to Safari > Preferences > Extensions and make sure the check mark is selected next to "Accelerate".

Really minor feedback: when you right click, under the options you should also include the shortcut, ex. instead of "Speed Up", it would be "Speed Up (D)"

Great, but there's a problem with safari on Macos12

Safari many times is not working with accelerator, dear developer, can you update it?

Works Great but needs updating

This is a greate extension but is not working with the MacOS Monterey Betas, and I'm also not expecting it to work with the final-released of the OS. The app just needs updating to work with Monterey -- otherwise, it's great!

Sound Distortion (Updated to 5 stars)

Great clean and simple extension. However I'm getting some sound distortion while using it. I don't have the same problem with my chrome extension. Is there a way to fix this?

Response from developer

Hi, the sound distortion is due to Safari's audio pitch processing, which admittedly isn't as good as Chrome's and unfortunately can't be fixed by Accelerate.

Great but have recommendation

I am really enjoying the functionality of the extension. I use this as a medical student to more quickly navigate through lectures.

One additional feature that would make this perfect for me would be menu commands to make universal keyboard shortcuts. An example this could be used is during recorded lectures and taking notes. If i miss a particular portion of the lecture audio and I need to skip backwards to get it, without exiting the note taking application, I would be able to do that. I cant tell you how much I am going in and out of applications when I just want to have a global shortcut for pause/play, skip forward and skip backward. Maybe Accelerate can do this and I just missed it. Great applicaiton none the less!

Works fine on Intel Mac but M1 Nah

This product on M1 mac is causing crash constantly as it leaks ram tremendously. I have tried several installations and actually hoped that it would work but nothing has changed.

Chrome works even better than this extension, so yeah. Bye for now

Response from developer

Hi, thanks for the feedback! I'm currently investigating this issue on M1 Macs. If you send me an email at hello@ritam.me, I'd appreciate any further details of your experience with the problem.

Great functionality and smooth integration!

I've been waiting for something like this for a long time. It's very handy as I often need to watch videos in slow motion. Also love that everything is handled with the keyboard.

If it had looping functionality this would be a perfect 5 stars for me.

Keep up the amazing work! πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘

Great but is using a lot of battery

I dont know what is going on but my activity monitor says accelerate has used 5.44 of 12 hour power. This causing me enough concern to really consider deleting the app. otherwise it works perfectly.

Response from developer

Hi, thanks for the feedback! I'm currently working on a fix and will be pushing a new version ASAP
