  • Great idea but

Lesson hangs and get stuck . Not worth the money. Forgot about it and only remembered when the subscription renewed. Honestly I lasted about 10 minutes.
  • Not Bad, could be better

At first I thought it was having issues with my accent, but it wasn’t. There needs to be a better way of indicating a step is done, something more obvious than the next arrow being enabled. It took me doing a slip of tongue before noticing it won’t let you advance without finishing first. Please look into an app, like DuoLingo for inspiration.

On the plus side, having to say things out loud took the fright I had initially. I feel more confident now.
The app is kinda expensive though. It feels like the developer concluded student pilots must love expensive stuff.

  • Must Have App for Students

If you’re just starting or about to start taking flight lessons, a subscription to PlaneEnglish helps your confidence on the radio. I used PlaneEnglish almost everyday for 10-15 min for about a month before starting my Private flight training and I was making all the radio calls the first day. The first one or two were still a little nerve wracking, but then all the time you’ve spent practicing calls sets in. It helps pilot workload and anything that can help there is worth it. Would highly recommend to any new student.

  • Great product

English is my second language and talk on the radio on a foreign language can be very intimidating. I’ve been using Plane English for some months now and I feel more confident when pushing the button and communicating with ATC. I highly recommend this product as it expose you to several conditions it virtually could take years of flight to encounter the situation you can practice over and over again in the comfort of your house.

  • Forget radio fear – this app is your ticket to pilot confidence!

Listen up, pilots… especially those of you who break out in a cold sweat at the mere thought of picking up that mic.

I get it. I used to be the same way. Aviation radio chatter sounded like a foreign language. My callouts were a jumbled mess, and I'd stumble over simple clearances. It was embarrassing, frustrating, and let's face it – flat-out dangerous.

Then a buddy told me about ARSim. This thing, he said, was like a personal flight instructor JUST for radio comms. Skeptical? Me too. But hey, desperate times...

Folks, I haven't looked back. ARSim is a freaking GAME CHANGER. Realistic simulations, instant feedback… it targets the exact spots where you’re screwing up and helps you FIX it. Suddenly, those intimidating exchanges with ATC? They’re becoming second nature. Taxing instructions… IFR clearances… even unexpected curveballs… I'm handling it all with a newfound cool.

Imagine the feeling of keying the mic and knowing – not just hoping – that you'll nail it. That's what ARSim is about. Whether you're a newbie sweating out those first solos or a seasoned pilot wanting a radio tune-up, this app is your secret weapon.

Trust me, radio confidence unlocks a whole new level of flying. Grab ARSim and kiss those communication jitters goodbye!

  • Opens your eyes to complacency

I’m a PPSEL with 450 hours working on my Instrument rating. I was amazed at well this product showed me things I needed to work through in my VFR Communication plus the IFR weaknesses I expected. It gives you a transcript of what you said plus a recording of it to compare with an expert communicator. It has definitely improved my technique. Is it perfect? No but it really is helping me improve. The trainer walks you through a progression of scenarios so your learning builds naturally. I wish you could hear the ATIS for each scenario but that is a small defect. I’d buy it again to maintain proficiency.

  • Great

I can’t speak to the accuracy of what you actually need to read back in real life vs in the app, as another reviewer mentioned. I’m too early in my aviation journey to know those specifics. I know enough about flying and radio transmissions to say is that this is an awesome tool, and there doesn’t seem to be anything else out there like it. It seems like the typical approach to aviation radio is to just jump in and figure it out. I’d much rather get some preparation before hand and this app is doing that very well. If working out a couple procedural kinks is the biggest adjustment I’ll have to make when conversing with ATC then I’ll be happy.

  • PlaneEnglish

As second language, it was great finished the Comms skills with the ARSim.
I’m not flying frequently so the ARSim gave me more confident to deal with the ATC.
But I need to keep on and on practicing.
As a helicopter pilot I felt lack about the specific training.
By the way, could you please include in the training two airports, Vancouver and Victoria?
    Thanks for your time,

  • Its pretty good, but

I like the concept. It’s helped me a especially with different tail numbers and flows of saying things. But it does want you to say back things that are not required and it rates you on it, which I think isn’t fair especially to someone who’s learning because in reality you just have to say the important stuff. Also you can change ATC’s voice, but most of the voices don’t work. Wish they could fix read back problem mostly.
