  • Over-all a great app

I just got this app to help me learn my ATC communications because I do my flight training mostly out of a small class E airport. The app is really good for learning as far as the way it’s build, and I really like it.
I do have one complaint, being that the voice recognition in the app could use some improvement. It’s good, but not great.

Over-all I would definitely recommend this app to new pilots.

  • Little seems to work.

I paid for a half year, but will probably cancel in the morning. Sure it gives me the text of what to say, but it seems to not use the microphone or speaker. Kinda missing the point of the practice.

Well. I gave it two more stars than I originally gave. It suddenly started using the mic and speaker

  • Great idea. Poor execution.

This would be fantastic if it worked properly. It fails
to pick up any sound when wearing headphones. Without headphones it recognises 50% of the words I say. This means the scoring is incorrect and the frustration outweighs the learning.

Dan, some recent updates should improve your experience. Note that if your device has non-US English as its default speech recognition, then that is probably the cause of the low speech-recognition performance. Simply changing that in your device settings should greatly improve your experience. thanks!
  • Really fun

This app is really helpful for improving my speech rate and accuracy, also helps for learning how to remember readbacks correctly. I’m not a real pilot, so this is a good introduction on the proper procedures, even if some have stated it’s a little too verbose.
  • Comfortable with Comms

I’m a student pilot working toward my PPL. I started using this app after seeing so many posts on social media about student pilots struggling with their comms. It not only made me comfortable quickly, it also integrates super well with my chair flying! My CFI told me he’s been impressed with my comms and has never had to worry about those. I told him my secret... Plane English! Get this app and use it! It’s so so worth it!

  • Good for practice

Good for practicing, but as an Aussie pilot it would be great if it was also catered for Australian flying. Not huge changes but definitely small ones which would be handy in learning a lot of our CTA radio procedures. Also having the ability to plan a flight to Australian Aerodromes.
  • Amazing app worth every single penny!

I am a student pilot who has a fear of messing up a transmission on the radio in front of way more experienced pilots. This app has helped me already in the 24 hours I’ve had it to gain confidence and to learn and receive feedback to perfect my ATC read back skills. I’ve already purchased a subscription and am enjoying the app a TON! If you or anyone you know is struggling over radio or wants to get a head start before taking comms for the first time I highly suggest to try out this app. This app is perfect for anyone wherever they may be in their aviation path as it helps keep your skills sharp. In the end, this purchase was money well spent and I now can’t wait to get up in the air and start doing some talking with the knowledge and confidence this app has given me! Thank you to the staff and developers for making such an amazing tool for all pilots!

  • Good, but could be better

It’s an interesting idea. And definitely one of the things I’ve seen a lot of my students struggle with, not to mention myself have problems with is radio interaction and conversations using correct ATC phraseology. Here’s the problem: The communications that this app demands of the user there’s almost no resemblance to what goes on during real world ATC interactions. Yes you got the order and sequence of these things right, but the app punishes you for things you would say in the real world. Eg reporting having ATIS info D in a clearance the app wants you to spell out “with Information Delta”. In the real world you’re just going to simply say “with Delta” and the controller knows exactly what you’re talking about. The more complex Clearance practice is almost useless without available taxi charts, departure procedures, STARs, etc. readily available and reviewed prior to commenting the flight. All in all it’s a neat idea, but it’s still an embryonic stage and needs a lot of improvement.

Thank you for taking time to review the app and providing the feedback. We're always looking for places to improve, and your feedback is valued! Thanks again!
  • Great for beginners and experts alike!

As someone who’s just learning the difference between my trees and threes, this app has been hugely helpful. I’m currently doing the basic lessons, but I’ve seen that eventually you can work your way up to flight plans between actual airports, so I’ve got a lot of work ahead of me. This app will be the perfect tool to help get my VFR phraseology up to snuff!

  • Touchy

I’d say this is good but sometimes I’ll be saying exactly what it wants me to say and it will say I’m only 80% correct.
