Needs major bug fixes
When app is working I get what I need out of it. Speech detection works fine and helpful enough so you can improve. Sometimes you won't get accurate feedback which is not a big deal.
My biggest complaint is that any progress you make gets wiped when you restart app. This has been going on for months. Not okay for an app I'm paying forShow lessOrquestaJavi
Crash’s on iPad
The login dialog box freezes and eventually crashes the app.
Such a shame, works well on iPhone but not iPad. Most pilots use tablets for EFB not a phone.inverted_aviation

My first problem is with the massive paywall for people like me who don’t want to spend their money on this. My second nitpick is how specific the voice recognition thing is. It’s hard to get 100’s on the scores since the voice recognition thing is horrible. If you want a 100 you will need like a robot since it’s so specific. Once again back to my main nitpick where there is a giant paywall for people. What if they are a kid and doesn’t get allowance then what there shouldn’t be a subscription for people to learn. This app isn’t like a private school too it’s free to the public so when there is a paywall I get annoyed.Show lesssuppperwhat
Fantastic app! IFR student
Plane English is a fantastic tool. I got my PPL about 9 months ago. This app helped me a lot with getting more comfortable talking to ATC. I’m now getting the IFR subscription and am using it to get familiar with Approaches etc. highly recommend this tool.N-power44

It won’t understand me very well, sometimes I have to say my stuff 10 times. And then sometimes it just won’t even say I’m saying anything I listen to the help thing and say the same thing but it doesn’t pick it, I even put my mouth right against the micX-PLANE REVEIWS
Great practice
This app is great for practicing outside of the plane and has improved my comprehension of what’s essential for ATC communication. However the app is not loading the maps for any of the position report exercises. I am unable to see the necessary info to complete each section. Please fix this soon since I am relying on the app as a study resource.

Great app. Definitely recommended
As not native speaker student pilot I had hard time to grasp the fundamentals. I was spending costly hours focusing on radio comm. Using this app I was able to chair fly from/to the airports nearby my flight school and learn the basics and advanced comm. I asked to add the airports I usually fly: KPOU, KALB, KMGJ and the developer added them in hours. I would rate SIX stars if available.Show lessflyCub4fun
Impressed with Plane English
I downloaded this app because I wanted to learn about proper radio communications in regards to flying. I started off with the “basics” and started to play with some “fly” simulators which take you step by step from the terminal at one airport to the terminal of the destination airport.
It’s great to have something I can use when I have some spare time. Instead of scrolling aimlessly through instagram or Facebook, you can invest some time into refining your radiotelephony skills.
I’ve had the app for a couple weeks now and I can see my skills improving.
One of the main reasons I wanted to use this app was because I didn’t want to be learning radio comms WHILE I was learning to fly a plane. That way I could focus totally on the flying part and have the radio comms part come second nature. Flight training is expensive so what learn something in a plane with fuel burning and an instructor on the clock when you can learn it at home or while you’re on a trip.
Highly recommend this app if you’re new to flying.
I also reached out to the team about a bug and they were quick to respond and fix the issue. That’s important for any app.
