No bloat budget app

Pros:
-Simple clean and iOS native looking design.
-No feature bloat. Most other apps on iOS are too confusing to use with too many options and features.
-Burndown visualization is effective for being aware of your spending and minimizing it.
-Privacy policy that respects your privacy.

Cons:
-5 account limit. I have more than 5 accounts so this stings.
-No way to direct connect to your bank/card via OFX
-No way to manually update an account with a CSV/OFX file
-No way to visualize spending over a custom time interval (like a whole year for instance)
-No way to sort the transactions for a month by transaction amount. You can only do it by date.

Suggestions:
-I wish there was a view for investing/savings too in addition to the budget view. Basically set a savings/investing goal every month and see how close you are to hitting it.

If you have less than 6 accounts to track this app is the best and simplest budget program on iOS I’ve seen.

Thanks for the in-depth review Dsxpress! We'll consider this feedback for future features.

Simple and elegant budget tracker

Easy to understand at a quick glance how well you’re keeping to your budget. It’s beautifully designed as well, my only issue is the oddly high monthly cost, I understand operating costs, it just seems like a lot.

Response from developer

Glad you’re finding the app useful! You’re correct, operating costs and maintaining a high quality experience are the main factors. If you have ideas about how this could be improved, please reach out at contact@budgetburndown.app. We’d love to hear about any changes you’d like to see in the future.

Doesn’t work

Won’t even let me link my card. Is this some kind of scam?

US only?

This app is available to download in the UK, however it doesn’t appear that UK banks are supported yet. Could that likely change in the future?

Otherwise what I could see on this app looked nice and clean.

Response from developer

Hi Roberohn, we now support adding transactions manually for regions in which linking cards is not yet available. Please give it a try and let us know what you think!

No Australian banks

Doesn’t support Australian Banks. It also can’t be used as a standalone app as it has to be linked to an online bank.

Good idea, but unusable for my bank

The app seems like a great idea, but it doesn’t support my bank (Huntington), so I can’t really use it. That’s unfortunate because I really thought it would be helpful.

About card support

Can the app link to Chinese card? Or set a card manually?

Budget Burndown

Addictive. Been testing it for a few months. Pick one account to use for everyday spending. Becomes a game to keep on track.

Simple, clean, easy to use!

I’ve been waiting for a budgeting app that’s simple and easy to understand forever. Apps like mint can be challenging to upkeep and maneuver. This app has a way of making all of your banking info easily digestible. From the straight forward graph, the transactions feed at the bottom, daily budget limit $$, and the ability to get notifications to keep you on track. Highly recommend it’s been exactly what I’ve been looking for!

Us too! That was one of the driving factors behind the creation of this app in the first place. Thanks for the feedback!

Finally!

Finally a simplistic way to track my spending across all my credit cards.
