Bad Programming!
I’m writing this review for my parents. They spent 7k to get the trim lights installed. The lights themselves look great and I have no issues with the installation or how they look when working. However, this app, and the software are complete garbage. I spent hours trying to reconnect the app and system to their local WiFi and I basically could not do it. It would connect and then next thing you know it’s gone. When paying this much for a product you should have nearly zero issues. This needs to be resolved!

Easy to use
Love these lights, can schedule out every holiday. I even schedule it for family birthdays a day or two before so I don’t forget to get a present 😂😂
Get goin on that app update
Supposedly there’s an update coming that will allow users to control each individual bulb. I truly hope this is available soon as we just spent several thousand dollars on lights that can’t do what we primarily purchased them for. It’s a bummer too that the new control panel (also supposedly coming out soon) which allows for control remotely away from home, will not be a free upgrade with the current box which requires being at home and in range of our WiFi. Agree with a lot of other reviewers. Limited on what is available in the app. If you want all the lights on, and not a few on with dark space in between, then these work fine. We got lights with the intention using accent lighting through most of the year. Since we can only control black space between the bulbs in a specific sequence, the accent is off balance across our home and doesn’t match. We will have a couple of lights on at the very top of our peak on one side, then running down the left or right of a separate peak on another side.
Oh yeah, another review reminded me of this also, a dawn/dusk setting would be amazing!!!!!!!! That way I don’t have to continually set my schedule throughout the year as the days become longer/shorter.

Awesome lights limited by so-so app
TrimLights look AAAH-MAZING in person! The true potential of these lights are being held back by a mediocre app - which is the only way to control them.
8 of the 12 light pattern/animation options that a user can create are chases - and they look the same! The only difference seems to be the direction (forward or back).
Would love the ability to sequence multiple patterns/animations together as well as the ability to sync the lights to music — think how amazing Christmas and Halloween displays could be!
Also would like the ability to create more complex patterns…randomizations…or even twinkling.

Great lighting system! No more hanging lights and I can control from my iPhone!
Needs update
Controller is hard to connect to on first try. Interface needs an update, would be nice if it had a dawn/dusk setting based on calendar and location like a lot of other smart phone controllers. You should be able to delete custom scenes that you made right now you can’t really delete anyone that you’ve saved. Over five months without an app update need to see a new version soon.

My Kids Love Them!
My kids love these lights. The app makes it super easy for them to try all the different options and watch the lights chase across the house.
