After Scanning It Resets

Right after scanning when you press Next it resets the whole thing. Can't look at the information for more than a few seconds. 2/5 at most

Useful for verifying that your chip is working BEFORE you travel

While the app asks you to scan your photo, that’s required in order to decrypt the info on the chip. It’s used as a token for the purposes of verification and is deleted once the app is closed. Way better than waiting (and hoping) till you get to the airport to see if it’s working.

More people need to know about this app!

I washed my passport right before a trip to Cabo and the closest appointment to get a new passport would have been an 8hr drive. Thank god I found this app, I used it and the moment of truth was today as I checked in and everything worked! 🙌🏼

It works

It works but had to doing it horizontally during scanning my passport. I wish there was function to copy and paste the data.

Wash your US Passport?

If you’ve accidentally washed your passport like I have then this app will help you! I washed my passport but the physical appearance and everything else looked fine but was worried about the RFID chip. This app helped me check whether it was working or not. The chip worked and I was able to smoothly fly to my vacation. This app needs to be marketed on Reddit boards and TripAdvisor pages since accidentally washing your passport seems to happen more often than you think…

Needed to check my passport chip before travel

My passport was somehow dislodged between an article of clothing and as a result, went through a full high speed wash and an entire cycle of the dryer. I thought there was no way for my passport to be functional and although I let it dry fully and the passport physically is intact, I read horror stories of the chip not working and being denied boarding in certain cases (not sure what the extent of the truth there is to this). Either way, I didn’t want to risk it and the only way would be to go to the airport and ask them to test it before an international flight (seems too close for comfort), or to have an app like this! After scanning my chip, I verified that everything works and the app is so smooth. Thank you developers for a peace of mind and saving me a trip to the airport!

It doesn’t work worth a lick. No matter where I place the passport, it won’t read. Deleted.

Works well

It’s a good app and works well reading the chip. I hope the developer is not harvesting my personal information though and selling or storing it on their servers.

Trusted Anchor Country Signer Uruguay

I am getting failed verification on some Uruguayan passports but not others. Does ReadID have the country signature file to verify Uruguay? Why would only some passports fail?

With the country signatures we are strongly depending on the specific countries to make their public certificates public, not all do - or not all do that immediately. In this case I think the passports that we could not verify are very new passports (issued this month?) - I will make sure that we check whether there is a new certificate available! So you can verify them in the future! ^ID
