Don’t trust it

Sorry I just couldn’t get past license being misspelled on the set-up screen. Failed to get my trust on that one.

You are probably from the United States. We are based in Europe and therefore use the UK spelling: which spells: "licence(s)" instead of "license(s)". You will see both driving licence and open source licence. No worries! If there is anything else I can do for you, please let me know. ^ID

Best Free Way to ID US Passports

Its shows the certificate info on the chip, allowing you to verify this with the US Dept. to insure you have a real passport and not a fake.

It collects Data. It asks to scan the document using the camera. It did not use the NFC. Do not trust them!

I understand your privacy concern, but can assure you we do not collect personal data - see the statement on the first screen of the app. NFC documents are protected by international regulations, so instead of "just making a photo" (first step), the data of the photo is used to decrypt the NFC chip (second step). Hi unfortunate to hear this, we checked and iPhone SE 3rd gen works. Maybe your identity document is not supported, which happens if it does not have a NFC chip. On our website you can find a blog which shows which identity documents are supported. ˆID

Not working on Mexican passport

I renewed my Mexican passport 3 months ago and I was given the new electronic passport. When using the app i get a report saying authenticity not validated. Why is this happening ? Thank you for your attention.

New updates break all functionality

Can’t scan IDs or read them through NFC. Used to work perfectly; going to try a different app.

MRZ Issue

Since the new update, app struggles to read MRZ through camera. System before for reading MRZ was much more efficient.

Not usable

Can’t even scan the document properly. It say “get closer” and then when it’s too close, it says “document out of focus”, then the loop repeats endlessly. iPhone 13 mini, tried on Personal ID and Driver License.

Thanks for providing the additional detail. We think we've recreated your bug with a iPhone 13, and assume/hope the iPhone 13 mini issue you have is the same. We're made a fix which will be in the next release (version number 4.74). We'll try to get this published quickly but will take 1 or 2 weeks I'm afraid (I hope less).^MW

Issue with Validation

My passport is issued by Bangladesh govt, while scanning, i get an error saying "FAILED - could not build a chain to a trust anchor." What could be the reason?

It means the Bangladesh gov did not provide the so-called country certificate to the outside world via normal channels. Or not yet, we update the certificates every month or so.
