  • Scan open not working?

I have tried to scan in a batch of books but I get a blank white screen on both iPad and iPhone. Is this a bug?
  • Great App

It is essential for keeping track of books read.

I had tried other book cataloging Apps, but found them to be restrictive in the amount of books that could be added. Bookshelf is an amazing App and so far (after loading 650+ books), I am not being restricted or made to pay to use the App.
Many thanks to the developers of this App, a wonderful easy use resource.

  • Great app

Has helped me organize my current books, books I want, and read books. Haven’t bought a duplicate book in forever. Great app!
  • Super little app

I use it when I’m out to quickly check if I have a copy of a book already.. I’d like it to be able to tell me if I have a book in hardback or paperback, though. Sometimes if I scan a paperback it tells me it’s not on my shelf so I buy it only to find out I have the hardback copy at home. all in all fine app.. if this was a paid app I would gladly pay for it to be updated regularly.

  • This is what I’ve been looking for!

For several years, I’ve been wanting to catalogue my large book collection, but found the prospect overwhelming. This app has turned that right around - it’s fun, easy and very fast. It’s so intuitive that instructions aren’t required, but it’s flexible enough to allow you to structure and catalogue your collection how you want. Sometimes it’s a struggle to find the right cover of the book, but really, that’s very much a third world problem. I rarely give five stars but am very happy to this time. One request: can the app please make a ‘bleep’ noise when it successfully scans? That’ll take me back to memories of scanning books at the local library.

  • Freedom in the Tracks

I’m not a heavy user of apps on the phone, but I have grown, especially fond of bookshelf. Being a free app, it had the potential to be something not too sturdy, but that has not been the case as I have used over the past seven months because I have a way to log where I am in several books without using random bookmarks, although I still have them, my reading habit has been stronger and consistent because of using this app. I’ve already recommended it to many friends and even a few strangers who also like to read so if you don’t already have it, download it and enjoy your reading journey, the title of this review is in reference to trains the train is powerful, but I can’t go anywhere without its respective tracks. Therefore, this app becomes the “tracks” needed for your powerful reading train!

  • App used by bookstore staff!

I found out about this app when I worked for Kohl’s and indigo bookstore in Canada. I really love the app and it is one that all the staff would use so I highly recommend.

Hi Lisa-Loo68, thank you for your review :) Is there anything specific you would like us to improve that would make it a 5 star experience for you?

The Pro’s The app is good for creating a list of your books. Adding new books is easy with scanning the ISBN The Con’s (for me) I would like when I scan a new book into my library it would automatically place the book into the shelf titles “My Books” instead when scanned the app says add to my shelf I would like for all of “My Books” to be in that shelf. Then have the ability to simply check whether read or unread. It would be nice to have a simple star or color system to show Read, unread, wishlist etc And a simple way to moved books through the process from wishlist, to owned, to unread, to read. It would also be nice to switch books between the “categories” or shelf’s easier than one book at a time. There may be ways to do this but I haven’t found a simple way .

Thank you for your detailed review, RW8008. There's an option to batch scan multiple books which requires to choose shelf only once before scanning all the books. Also, by clicking the three dots in the upper right corner from your Bookshelf page, there's a "Select" option that lets you select multiple books and move them or mark them as read/unread for example. If this doesn't solve your problems, please contact us via bookshelf.concept@gmail.com and we'll see how we can help you.
