Great EV, a little hard to purchase
We recently purchased a preowned, certified RZ450e (EV) at Portland’s dealership. The car is great — high quality throughout. The process to pick it up and go through orientation and paperwork took 4 hours, and we still felt inadequately prepared for our return trip to Spokane, which contains an 80-mile stretch of freeway having NO commercial charging stations. We discovered that our actual maximum range wasn’t the advertised 220ish miles, but 160 miles ( probably influenced by the wind in the Columbia gorge). Lesson learned: charge at Electrify America stations at more frequent and shorter intervals than you might think would be needed, for safety and for avoidance of “range anxiety” which is really not pleasant.
Despite a series of relatively minor inaccuracies and disjointed communications amongst the customer service staff over the past 9 days, I’m finally feeling peace and confidence that the purchasing process is going to finish successfully. I love my Lexus EV!
