Mixed experience - but subscribed anyway
I subscribed for the year despite maintaining my old 1 star review.
A few months ago I did a free trial and then purchased 10 hours thinking I could Pay As I Go (misleading IAP). The team of 3 would have earned more annually from me via pay per use. So I lost those hours when the trial expired.
Anyway I subscribed simply because it's the best. Picked my poison as a manner of speaking.
100x better than native Live Captions (even in offline mode too!!), will stay reliably onscreen for hours auto captioning a dinner table nicely.
As I software develop and run an accessibility company, I understand business needs. But this is a really bad "own goal".
Still sad the lost hours were lost though; and that my feature request submission was ignored. For this reason I remain an annual subscriber while also keeping this 1-star review.

They overcharge you for more hours. $75 month
I bought this application for an entire year for my daughter who is hearing impaired. I had to fight to get the school district to allow a child to transcribe her middle school classes. The school district is evaluating this as a tool for other kids that are hearing impaired. I feel I was tricked as I bought the app for the entire year, and a few days of her transcribing her lectures, it stops transcribing during her classes and asks for more money. I am not sure how many hours she will need a month, but it is seeming to be around $75 a month in addition of buying the app for the entire year which was over $80 (maybe more). This is totally taking advantage of people with disabilities. Great app, but only if you can afford it!!!! You need to have an option of unlimited transcribing when I buy this app instead of ripping customers off a few days in. It was not transparent when I bought this app how many hours per month it included. Please change the way you do business.

Oh wow
I have been looking for something to help with group conversations for a while… not to mention one on one and the occasional electronic transcript from the tv ( I am in NZ where not everything is captioned) and can’t believe the accuracy your app has… only just downloaded it so this is a very early report but can’t wait to try it in a group tomorrow!

Hopeful
This is really say 3.5 not 3 but not 4 yet.
There are too many wrong words that spoil the understanding for a deaf person.
I am new to Transcribe so will be hopeful of better communication once I find the areas in which you shine!

Too expensive
This app works well and is the best I've ever tried. However over $100 a year for a subscription to use this app has killed it for me. As someone who lost their hearing and job due to a brain tumour I'm on a government pension so why is there no monthly subscription option? It's a year and over $100 or nothing.
So I'll be choosing a free app that doesn't work as well as this app. Shame.

Wow, it’s incredible!
I enjoy using this app, I’m keeping this app on both my iOS and iPadOS as I am not seeing the transcribing service is ready yet for iOS 16 and UK English built in. I use it for work conferences at present. It’s awesome with the internet enabled. Keep it up.
Best I’ve found
I’ve sampled quite a few speech to text apps. This app picks up most patiently and accurately of all of them. I like how it writes the text as an ongoing document and not small time-stamped snippets.
Don’t subscribe
I have 4 hours left of my subscription that they won’t allow me to use unless I resubscribe . The developers are money hungry and could care less about the deaf community.
Update for developers response: Yes you are money hungry and I would tell you 3 greedy fools to your faces. When I first got this app we were able to use basic captions (that rarely work) for free. Now when I cancel my subscription you guys put a lock on my leftover hours AND the basic FREE captions. That is nothing but greed I spent hundreds of dollars on this app and you send me this unprofessional response! I will never recommend Live transcribe.
Update 2: To the Developers second response, please read my first review again. I have delayed unsubscribed and I will not be returning. I wouldn’t recommend this app to anyone. If apple deletes this review I will put it back as it is my 100% honest review of this company. I have the emails to prove everything I said and every Apple receipt that shows I spent hundreds monthly as this was my only source of communication in college. You guys wouldn’t even allow a monthly subscription option for people like me who needs transcription services on a daily basis. Nothing but greed and using predatory subscription services to profit off the disabled community.

Hi Asante131, your response is incorrect and inappropriate. There is a person here answering you and we are not what you say. We've also never offered basic for free. Please discontinue using our services and you're not welcome back. We will be asking Apple to remove this review due to inaccuracy.

The huge building I was in has no internet reception, so I used Live Transcribe Basic for the first time, which works well offline, without internet. I watched the captions on my phone in real-time, and I was able to save the entire conversation and then email it to myself. “Basic” works better offline, and “Pro” works better online. Pro is just incredible. You get a free 3-day trial. There are several Live Transcribe apps. This is the one with the little elephant icon. In addition, their support staff is fantastic. They answer messages quickly and are extremely helpful with any questions. I couldn’t be more impressed with Live Transcribe and their support staff.

I watched the captions on my phone in real-time, and I was able to save the entire conversation and then email it to myself (or anyone else). I have tried other apps that are supposed to be able to save and send, but do not, which is very frustrating to have an important conversation just disappear. In addition, their support staff is fantastic. They answer messages quickly and are extremely helpful with any questions. I couldn’t be more impressed with Live Transcribe and their support staff.
