Lower expectations equals an easy life.
I don’t know what kind folks have a hard time with this app. Prices are standard per zone… autofill doesn’t always work, big deal. This app lets you check-in when it’s free then auto starts billing when parking fees start. Also, the map has all zones color coded. This lets you see if another zone is around the corner. It’s been super convenient for me throughout multiple stays in Reykjavik.

Worst parking app ever
Tried looking for a parking spot and it started a session unknowing. Got charged $15 for a spot I never parked in.
Application is unreliable
App does not open. Poor instructions. No directions how to pay after if it did not work on site.

Beginning in about AD 800 and continuing for many centuries Nordic raiders plundered Western Europe, looting, raping, murdering and destroying all within their reach. Today it’s Payback Time & hoards of tourists are descending on Iceland to see what they did with the loot. Relieved that they can now access foreigners wealth without the necessity of a long cold & dangerous sea voyage the Icelanders have developed this App. The most valuable real estate in Iceland now comprises gravel covered car parks. This App efficiently continues the Nordic tradition of raping foreigners, but this time of their cash & not their virtue. It works well!

Terrible app that does not do what it says it does
This is one of the worse apps I have ever seen. It promises to debit your pre-filled in credit card when you drive in and out of a car park that is managed by the Parka app.
It does not and you need to manually try to get the details from the Company and manually pay, or else pay at the parking lot when you visit (eg the waterfall or other site).
How simple would it be to get this to work?
I would suggest car companies complain and get something better to use for their tourist visitors in Iceland.

Do Not Use Unless You Want to Dispute Charges
The app mislocated us at various national parks so upon our return we received errant claims from our rental car company of not paying for parking when we did.
Needs more payment options
This app was impossible to use as the only way to pay was with credit card and 2-factor authentication to my mobile number in my home country, which was not operational travelling in Iceland. You need to link more payment options like ApplePay or PayPal.
Doesn’t work
Wanted to park to go visit a canyon in Iceland, the only way to pay was through the app, which is extremely stupid considering not everyone will have internet. Another issue is the payment verification system they use is completely nonfunctional. My friend and I tried 5 separate cards and couldn’t get a single one authenticated. We couldn’t pay for parking at all and had to leave. Trash app, fix it or don’t require it.

Worked great, minus 1 area.
Not sure why all the bad reviews. Drove around the whole ring road with no issues. I was able to find the parking location, paid, and done avoiding paying machines! Only area the app didn’t work was in downtown Reykjavik. Kept saying total was zero even during hours you are supposed to pay, so we used the pay machine for that time only.
*if your going to be in an area with not so great service you can always pay ahead the parking payment is for 24hrs.
