How it works: To make your travel to the monuments and heritage sites in India interesting and comprehensive, the App divides your destination into multiple Points of Interest or POIs. These POIs are marked on a Google map-overlay. Once you reach a site covered by the App, the GPS feature auto-locates you and prompts you to open the site tour. It then directs you to the first or the POI nearest to you, to start the tour. Explyore has interesting audio content for each POI, which auto-plays when you reach your desired POI. It also provides instructions for reaching the next POI. This way, using audio-narratives, Explyore walks you through all the POIs within a site. For select POIs, Explyore has gathered additional stories for you. When you reach the intended POI, the stories start appearing on your handset. To listen to them, simply press the corresponding button. Once you open the App at a site covered by Explyore, it is a complete hands-free experience for you with Explyore navigating you to the various POIs while auto-playing interesting stories. This enables you to cover the entire site comprehensively, yet optimally. The hands-free auto-play mode provides you with a unique audio-visual experience – Explyore’s audio-stories bringing to life the visuals that you are witnessing in person! We promise to significantly enrich your travel experience. • Explyore operates in two primary modes – Auto and Manual. Auto is the default mode when you are in the vicinity of a site covered by Explyore. • In Auto mode, the GPS feature auto-locates you and directs you to all the points of interest within the site. For a handsfree experience, please grant Explyore the permission to access your location and run in the background. This way, the GPS and narratives will work even if the phone is in your purse or pocket, helping you focus on the monument! • The Manual-mode helps you access all of the App’s features even if you are not in the vicinity of the site (e.g. home or hotel). However, to play the audio for a POI, you need to press the POI location pin or the Play button on your app-screen, manually. • . Explyore has original content with a blend of authentic sources and local anecdotal information. The entire information is written like a story and professionally recorded by some of the best voice-over artists in India, providing you with an unmatched audio experience. • The App has an interactive menu with features such as an integrated camera function (lets you take pics while listening to the tour), auto location (helps you to locate yourself within the site), and list-view (chronological order of POI’s within the site). • The list-view also contains multiple pictures corresponding to each POI to give you diverse perspectives. The pictures are arranged in a manner which follows the audio narrative. • Explyore works offline as well. There is an option to download the content for every site. Once the content is downloaded, the audio-narrative corresponding to a POI within a site will play even without network connectivity. However, the “offline mode” will only play if you are in the vicinity of the site which the App will identify by accessing your location. • In addition, the App contains relevant information about the site. This includes a brief introduction about Explyore’s coverage of the site, directions to reach, a brief history of the site and other additional details. These are available as short written-descriptions as well as detailed audio-narrations.
