  • New version 1.6.3 poorly designed

I really like the Yubikey, but the app has just taken a serious step backward.

Before the most recent update, when I plugged in my Yubikey 5Ci, I had to select an account and then touch the key, simple.

Now, I have to plug it in, select an account, then a menu pops up where I have to select “calculate”, then touch the key. Why the extra click to “calculate”? More importantly, why is “delete” on the same menu as calculate?? Let’s play the odds here, for every time I use my yubikey, I’m probably going to “calculate” 1000 times more often than I want to delete the account, so why isn’t that the default anymore?

Delete, un/favorite, etc. should be buried options and the default action should just be to authenticate.

Hi there, Thank you for sharing this feedback with our team. A long tap on the credential should do the same thing as a short did in the previous version. The delete function will bring up a confirmation dialog so there’s no risk of accidentally delete a credential. The reason behind the change is to prevent accidental calculation of hotp codes. We also wanted to note that a long press will also copy the code to the clipboard. Hope this is helpful!
  • V 1.6.3

Thank you for pushing such fast updates and especially v 1.6.3 for fixing extra NFC taps!
  • Amazing app

This app effectively lets you implement hardware security key authentication even on websites that don’t natively support it. The new smartcards features in the app also let me use my S/MIME certificate stored on my YubiKey to sign my emails from within the iOS Mail app! ❤️

Thank you for the love! So glad to hear you're enjoying the app.
  • No tablet support?

Response to yubico: well isn’t that just like Apple to be nonsensical. Apple really needs to stop being anti-competitive and anti-user. Well, thank you Yubico for the replay. END UPDATE/:/:/Had a little difficulty getting it to work with the phone, but after spending a while and many attempts, I finally got it to work. Moving onto my iPad with a USB-C port, I am met with a notice that the device is not supported since it doesn’t have a lightning port or nfc. Which means, despite having a 5C NFC, I can’t use it with my tablet because they failed to update the app. This makes no sense: make a usb-C device but the app doesn’t support it? Get it together Yubico.

Hello! This has now been resolved in our latest version of the app: Version 1.7.1 :)
  • can’t scan 5NFC on iphone 12 pro max

happily used the app (v1.5.0) on my iphone SE2 with my yubikey 5 NFC (firmware 5.2.6). upgraded phone to iphone 12 pro max and installed the app; i’ve yet to be able to scan the yubikey 5 NFC. it does work with a 5Ci, but i thought the value add was portability. hoping this is just user error, but i can’t recommend based on this experience.

  • NFC broken

NFC does nothing at all. Pulling down does nothing. Locked me out of my remote access when I had no laptop. Unreliable trash.
  • Great on the iPhone, but iPad Pro is not supported

Despite the App Store listing showing the iPad Pro as compatible, the YubiKey Authenticator app does not currently support the iPad Pro. On launch it states “This device has neither a Lightning port nor an NFC interface...” Apparently, they haven’t yet added support for the USB-C YubiKey.
  • No issues, works great!

I don’t know why there are so many negative reviews, this app works great. Love the ability to require touch before a token is generated.
  • I love that it works with the Yubikey - super weird glitch though

It would be perfect if it didn’t have a strange glitch. Every time I try to edit the name of the account I’m adding, the text field glitches out and enters letters that I’m not adding.

This is the only time it happens - I’m not pressing anything on my phone and haven’t had similar issues on any other app.

    What’s going on?
