Works but not great
Regularly disconnects.
However my main gripe. This is a nautical navigation app: why on earth can you not select nautical miles as a measure of distance? Surely this should be standard, it’s not even a choice.

Abysmal, Dangerous and Utterly Useless
This is hands down the most disappointing thing I have ever seen from B&G. It feels like this app was developed by someone who has never actually navigated a boat. The route planning function is completely and totally useless. They tried to make this app simple by removing functions and letting the app decide things for the user. Planning a route is something that requires detail and precision. Hire a new app development company B&G. You can do better.

Why Kms?
Why is the app now doing measurements in Kms instead of Nm? I can’t seem to find a setting anywhere to change this. I can’t understand a marine charting app using Kms
Nice
Nice to plan and measure trips
Seriously flawed
This app has so much potential, but unfortunately is practically useless. I’ve finally written this review because the app prompted me this morning as to whether I was enjoying it, I said no and it asked for feedback, which I could not submit due to an error. This app does not connect with my plotter when the competing Navionics app does. AIS has never worked, and position information is completely unreliable despite my iPad having GPS (in addition to being connected to NMEA). Wind overlay doesn’t even included direction. The clarity of maps is beautiful, and I think the interface is very good though. B&G, I’ll keep checking back after each update, but for now this app is not functional.

Unusable while on the way
I really tried to like this app since all my instruments are B&G.
However trying to update offline maps on a new iPad is impossible. Even on a 1GB internet connection at home it takes days to download the US East Coast maps. Imagine trying this while on the way with marginal internet. I flagged this once before with no reaction and even after multiple updates of the app it has not gotten better.
Navionics is doing a much better job, so does Orca.
B&G,
Downloads are not rocket science PLEASE FIX THIS ISSUE

Awful customer service and dangerous navigation App
Terrible customer service and product. Routing is neither the quickest or the most direct. Randomly stops working and position is often dangerously inaccurate. Never have these issues with navionics. Tried reaching out for help but no option to do so on the App. Tried phoning but on hold for over 90 minutes, no response to email.

New feature requests
Having an integrated start line feature would be great for those that use the app on a tablet for inside racing. Many smaller yachts don’t have plotters but having the start line feature and racing features as a premium option would be a great addition to the basic navigation.
B&G Support and App is Pathetic!
I have emailed customer support numerous times over weeks; including a major safety issue where my Bahamas charts disappeared, putting me and my family in danger. Nothing. Not a peep from B&G.
Now the app; about useless for 1 major reason…..it keeps requiring a network login to the BG server while I am in remote locations with no cellular or internet, this renders the mirror/remote connection to the chart plotter via my iPad useless because you know what? It wants me to login to the BG Server!!
Just perfect when in bad weather I can’t view my plotter via my iPad, so I have to go out in driving rain and wind to access the plotter!
Also, the settings aren’t working on the app…
The screen just has the waiting swirlybird even when I have internet…..so can’t adjust any settings. How unhelpful.
Outside of BG being lousy at customer support and an app that is pitifully below expectations, the BG plotter is pretty good…. I will have to give them that, but after this experience my next product will be a Garmin as I can’t in good faith endorse this company unless they make some changes.

Thank you for using our app and for your feedback. You can go to Home > Settings > Battery and select your preference.
The linkage between app and plotter has changed
As a non-subscriber but with a two year old chart plotter, the app no longer connects from the boat tablet to the plotter unless you have 4g or are subscribed? It served as a very basic, low-res mirror at the chart table with position and chart being relayed from the paid-for chart subscription on the plotter. This now means you need a data sim package and to have subscribed.
