App needs a lot or work

Connection consistently drops off when you’re using it, like other reviewers have mentioned, customized curves are very difficult, because it’s drag based instead of being able to point, and type to create smooth curves. Overnight light settings seem to glitch out in the morning I frequently walk in and don’t see my lights on for the morning cycle. I love the light itself quality surprising that the app is so poorly designed and marginally functional. It would be great to be able to connect via Bluetooth on a computer and log into a device webpage somehow.

I love it!

I’ve seen a lot of bad reviews but frankly I think it’s great. To be fair, it’s bit clunky to work with and takes a bit of fineness, but once I got it the way I wanted, it was good to go. Also, the new updates with tracking tank progress, maintenance, stats etc. was unexpected but totally welcome. For a free app - it does well.

I have three fixtures from them.

Wonderful app

Easy enough to navigate, good presets. No real
complaints!

Great light, garbage app

Chihiros really needs to read these reviews and make changes to the app. Almost every time I open the app it forgets my lights and I have to re-set them up. At the very least put buttons on your lights so the app can be bypassed if the app refuses to work

Mostly inaccessible for those with visual impairments

The designers desperately need to check the colour contrast against WCAG WAI standards. In most cases, the contrast is insufficient to read the text. In particular, the title of the days when adding a time setting and the label colour on I completed fields for setting username and password which is almost grey on grey, add device icon is red on black, etc. There are other areas which could also do with review. I’ve marked the app down purely for these reasons as there should be no barrier to using the app.

However, connecting was reasonably easy and the time period setting is nicely visual (although again there is insufficient contrast on the ramp up times). Can’t quite work out the relationship between a tank and a device and the UX here needs reviewing

Amazing light

I have two vivid mini, one vivid 2 and two wrgb 2. App is not user friendly and there’s a lot of improvement to be done there, but lights are amazing. Fluval has the exact opposite problem - amazing app but terrible and over priced lights. What would you prefer though? Bad lights (Fluval) or a bad app? Personally, I’m choosing amazing lights every time.

Needs major work

Automation does NOT operate unless light is within Bluetooth range of phone and phone has not put app to sleep. Completely useless app/Bluetooth receiver. Negative 5 stars if I could. Absolutely garbage. Light is beautiful and illuminates my tank nicely. Would have gone with manual dimmer switch if I knew this piece of crap needed my phone to be in range to work. My schedule is set to be on when I’m not even home. Didn’t realize my plants were getting zero light!!!! Luckily I can set it to manual 100% and use a smart plug to control it being on/off.

Good

Light works very well, app works fine once you figure it out

What’s the Problem?

I see all these negative reviews. Admittedly, I’ve only had the light for a week, but it’s brilliant. The light itself is fantastic and the app is easy to navigate and use. I am not encountering any problems that are being reported on the reviews.

SO Disappointed

Connects… Sometimes… Works, sometimes. Interface is confusing and over engineered. There’s even typo’s on the app. Can someone please fix this app? My fish are sitting in a dark aquarium.
