The default session is set to 5 minutes with 30 cycles, but you are free to choose your preferred duration, and the cycles will be calculated accordingly. To guide you, there's an inhalation sound for each breath in and an exhalation sound for each breath out. You can practice without looking at your screen, anywhere you want! Several relaxing music options are available, or you can choose to have no music at all. Why practice cardiac coherence? Cardiac coherence is a quick and highly effective way to reduce stress and anxiety and helps with long-term emotional control. The goal is simple: breathe in cycles of 5 seconds in and 5 seconds out. If you prefer, you can adjust the inhale and exhale durations to fit your needs. Long-term benefits are similar to meditation, including reduced symptoms of depression and lower blood pressure.     As soon as I opened the Anti-stress breathing app, I knew it would be helpful to me. The app played calming background music. It lets me customize the app to my liking. The only downside to the app was that you were only given a 3-day trial limit before you had to pay. Over the three days of using the app, It gave me multiple timed breathing exercises with soothing background music. After doing the breathing exercises, I felt more relaxed and less stressed. The breathing exercises helped me calm my mind from any outside stressors. This app's methods can benefit anyone dealing with stress or wanting to feel more at ease and relaxed. The breathing exercises this app offers can help with physiological changes like reduced levels of stress hormones in the blood, balanced levels of oxygen and carbon dioxide, and increased feelings of calm and well-being. This can be related to what we learned in class as we have discussed different coping mechanisms and techniques in class when dealing with stress. I think this app would be very beneficial to use as a coping mechanism or technique.

  • Great tool!

    I just read the book “Breath”, and wanted a tool to help me do coherent breathing. This one is great! My only wishes: better inspire/expire trigger sounds and that the best of the music would match the inspire/expire timing.
