Love it
I’ve always struggled to learn a music instrument, but LUMI has made it easy. It’s almost like playing a game, I didn’t think I would pick it up as fast as I did but I’m really enjoying it.
Well done to the LUMI team with your Kickstarter, I hope you further develop the app and keep it updated because it’s brilliant.

Needs work.
This app is a good start but I’ve ran into an annoying bug. When in the training modules it has you play keys and then after a bit it will judge you on your timing however no matter if you are early or late it continues to just say early. If I pause the song and then hit play the song will then start playing with the backing track and timing clicks and will actually judge your timing correctly. Before the pause it was just the keys you were playing.

Fun but glitchy
This is a fun way to play piano, but there are a number of critical issues: the audio is usually out of sync with the video, whether it is a piano roll, or a presentation. The app also often crashes repeatedly when I start the app and go to section 3 of the lessons.
It would be really useful to be able to go back to a previous point in a lesson: at the moment, the only option is to replay the entire lesson.
I echo the remark of another user that indicating fingering would be extremely useful when playing a piece.

Unreliable. Could be great.
This is not worth subscribing to until the teaching videos don’t freeze halfway through (there’s no way to rewind, you have to start from the beginning and pray it doesn’t freeze again). And several songs simple don’t load, I’m told to “try again later”. Not worth your money until the app improves drastically.

Hi Tommy, Sorry you're experiencing bugs. The LUMI app currently uses a lot of memory which means crashes and loading issues can happen older device — however we've identified some changes which will improve memory usage in the next couple of app updates. In the meantime if you email lumi.feedback@roli.com with the device you're using you'll get in touch with our app team, who will be able to troubleshoot with you. I hope we can resolve these issues for you.
Amazing, fun way to learn music.
I studied piano when I was younger but haven’t done much in 20 years. Lumi’s app and keyboard have gotten me back to playing. It’s ingenious, and maybe the best part is that it doesn’t really feel like you’re practicing even though you are. At the same time, I’d like to see more songs available to play in the app, beyond the 200 they have in there now.
