There is am massive bugs in the app
There are quite many bugs all the time to be honest, just yesterday almost all of the lesson beyond level 1 and 2 disappeared for no reason. Today every time I try and play the both hands practice/ setting it doesn’t even start and just crashes and ends the song(I have 2 keyboards so that is not the issue). One time none of the sound worked in the app. I like the app but there isn’t an easy way to report bugs so I have resort to reviews(I don’t need tech support when it’s an app problem not technical and I know sending it to tech will not actually fix the problem all they can send me is basically a good luck message regarding these problems).Show lessIidaMieli
It’s fun
It’s teaches me all sorts of songs, they have older songs, newer songs. They have advanced, and simple, and anything in between. Some of the songs that a labeled easy are difficult to me, but it’s still fun to learn. I like that they have lessons for different songs, and videos to learn the basics, and I’ve been playing instruments for 4 years, and still haven’t learned music notes, and they have videos teaching you that. Roli connect does not work and 100% of the learning app is locked behind monthly subscription paywalls with only single note twinkle twinkle little star available for free, definitely not what someone learning piano should get as the small number of keys severely hinders your learning of how to move your fingers and play octaves or actual chords, The best part is they recently more than doubled the subscription cost, “Because they have added so much to the app since inception.” BUY A DIFFERENT LIGHT UP KEYBOARD FOR HALF THE COST IF YOU ARE ACTUALLY LEARNING TO PLAY PIANO DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY HERE. ——BE AWARE THE APP ISSUES HAVENT BEEN FIXED IN YEARS AND THE SAME ISSUES THAT REVIEWS CITE OVER 2 YRS AGO ARE STILL PRESENT. More feedback. LUMI wants your feedback sanity and your soul
It is absurd. Absurd. Preposterous. How. Many. Times. I have been asked if I’m enjoying myself. I’m on day one of this app and it interrupts me after every. Single. Two three minute lesson if I’m having a good time. No way to turn this off. If I say yes. It goes away and comes up again and again. If I say no would you like help or to give more feedback?!? Seriously. This is unacceptable and makes me not want to even do this. I’m on day one of using this and it’s making me incredibly frustrated. So now I’m stopping to review your app. Not that anyone I’ll care or make changes. You want me to give you my feedback and won’t stop asking me. So I will just give this and maybe your other potential customers can decide if they want to give perpetual feedback. I am a customer. I will get ahold of you if there’s a problem. If I’m not complaining take my positive review and leave me alone. I’m so peeved that in 2024 we can’t do better than this. Technology. Alllll the data on the app you have about my progress and usage. Yes. I’m enjoying it. But will I keep this and keep using it. Not likely if this pop up continues. Rant. Over. As an Adult learner, I am highly motivated to learn. But let’s be real. Starting, and maintaining a new habit. Carving out time and learning a new skill. Way more complicated than it sounds!
But Lumi keys makes it so much easier.
iPad plus lumi keys equals music lessons!
Also… the lights not only help in teaching (cause the note you are supposed to play lights up) but they also make it more interesting.
Not getting bored playing something simple is huge. Especially when beginner piano music tends to be so patronizingly simple it’s hard to stomach.
Not saying the music selection is that much better.. but there are accompaniment tracks playing with you, bright colorful lights, and moving parts on the screen.
This turns it into a video game and light show all at the same time.

Like others, I was an initial kickstarter backer. Also like many people learning an instrument, I'm not very consistent. As a result, a subscription just doesn't make sense for me. But that's fine. I figured, there's lots to do here for a beginner! I can learn a little, and, when I'm ready, when I feel like I've learned enough to really want to expand my skillset, I'll subscribe.
But now there's only one song: the most basic form of Twinkle Twinkle Little Star you could imagine. I can't believe I backed this, bought something, and can't even use it now.
Mistakes were made. Hopefully I can just learn to play with it a different way.Show lesse11einaD

Hi Lumi App team,
It’s been a blast learning the keys on LUMI Music with how interactive it is using the keyboard. I’m one of those unfortunate souls who don’t own an iPad and it would be a lifesaver if you could enable this app for Apple Silicon Macbooks so people like me don’t have to squint at their phones or deal with laggy response from screen mirroring onto the laptop screen.

This is a fun and educational app. The quality of the app and lessons are too notch. Something about the lights and the lessons make me spend more time on the keys which I know will make me into a better player. Overall I am enjoying the lessons, and will continue to use them as they add more functionality.
There is always room for improvement when it comes to a app/keyboard combo like this-- but I am having fun with it and I highly recommend it.Show lessechoesinvain

This app has so much potential, and the instructors are great, but poor app coding results in glitches and crashes (just like previous ROLI app, NOISE). I was hoping for a much better experience, yet even with the latest updates and a paid subscription, it’s a total disappointment. The hardware build quality is terrible. The only redeeming factor is that it’s an MPE keyboard and works incredibly well in the ROLI desktop apps (Studio Player, Equator 1 and 2, Strobe 2, Cypher 2) AND other iOS apps like the Moog apps, Melodics, Volt, Synth ONE, and Tardigrain. Too bad Lumi/ROLI folks refuse to invest in quality iOS apps despite all the money invested by the folks who purchase their hardware/synths. DO BETTER.Show lessmisfitmanic

If it's still occurring please try the following: - Restart the app properly by quitting the app (instead of minimising) and opening again. - If the issue still persists, log out, and then log back in again. I have been addicted since day one. Lessons are clear, songs are fun, illuminated keyboard is very helpful. I keep practicing each lesson till I get a perfect score. It’s basically Duolingo for piano, but with an even better UI/UX. PS: The hardware didn’t turn on after it was delivered, so I had to take it to an electronics store who opened it up to fix it. Something for lumi hardware team to keep in mind.Show lessbkapicio
