  • Error Message Every Lesson

    Edit: Problem has been solved!

    After every single lesson I get an error message, and none of my progress is saved. The hardware works great, but it’s useless until the app is fixed. I keep seeing the Developer’s notes that they’re aware of this, but will it be fixed soon? I can’t even use this product until it’s fixed which is really sad since it was a gift I was very excited to receive.

    Hey there, We're really sorry about this. We've recently released a remote fix that should resolve these crashes. If it's still occurring please try the following: - Restart the app properly by quitting the app (instead of minimising) and opening again. - If the issue still persists, log out, and then log back in again.   • Bait n switch

    Spend a few hundred on hardware just to get access to one single track. Can’t even include a basic batch of songs or access to your own music or a free play mode.

    No where in their marketing does it say the $300 toy requires a $180 a year subscription.

    Not worth it.
  • How the mighty have fallen

    I was one of the first kickstars of lumi keys hardware. When it was released I was super excited to introduce this to my kids and help them learn piano. The lumi app is full of their practice runs. I was aware of a subscription coming but I of course assumed it would be a subscription value add to existing offerings:
    Oh how wrong I was.
    Almost every existing lesson, existing song, even songs that my children have played multiple times are now locked behind a subscription paywall.
    My plan was to subscribe so my children would have more content, but after seeing how the base app has become without a subscription I’ve changed my mind. At this point without the subscription the hardware is pretty useless and to me is predatory practice.
    So I’m done with this thing, if I can find compatible software I’ll reconnect it and my kids will have fun again but there’s no way I am going to subscribe to a service just so you get the base base content back.
    And to be clear, I understand the need of a subscription service. But as a person who literally kick started the hardware and was there from day one, I expected better. I have no issues subscribing for content but to put existing content behind a paywall to force a subscription is beyond the pale.

  • Error, There Was an Error, please try again.

    This happens 100% of the time on Apple Ipad Pro running iOS 16.2 latest software. This error translates into multiple frustrations including app crashes, freezes, and the worst of all the Loss of Progression data. I happily spent hours playing piano because this app in reality is fantastic and super fun and the best idea and concept ever put into play. But the errors and none of my progress being saved makes me wonder why i paid for the subscription. Needs to be fixed asap.

  • Bugs and crashes

    This app has an error message after every lesson and stops working. Many times you have to completely close out the app and go back in, only to lose all progress. Worst app experience I think I have ever had. Happens the exact same on two different iPads. Very disappointing.

  • Garbage

    Only works on phones and iPads. I bought two $300 tiny pianos to have each of my kids learned how to play. However, these pianos only work with phones and iPads. They don’t have phones, they are kids. An iPad is over $1k. I can’t give them my phone to use the piano every time they feel like playing. I definitely won’t buy 2 iPads so they can each play and learn at the same time. Ridiculous. Please make the app available for PCs.

  • Work in Progress

    I have very few words to say. I got this great new mini piano as a birthday gift this year. Indeed, the vision of the new app sounds wonderful. Nevertheless, I’ve read so many of the reviews yet the problem is still the same. System crashes and the error notification still goes on after every exercise. I have had to reboot the app many times, sometimes to the point where I no longer open it. I truly hope the system can get its technical problems situated so that the LUMI music app and instrument can fulfill its vision for those who look forward to learning and growing when they purchase the item and subscription.

  • Adding my review to add to the Error bug

    Been using over a year now and just bought a second keyboard pro version… I get the error message after every song or lesson. Even with the latest update. Please fix.

    Update: tried updating my OS, logging in/out, uninstall/reinstall, etc and still getting the error

  • Error Message Every Single Use

    Every single lesson, game, song, or anything that I’ve tried to play so far in this app yields an “error” message. When I hit “Ok” to attempt to clear the error (as I’ve tried to do at least 15 times now), either the app freezes, or I’m allowed to continue but all of my progress is erased.

    I have tried updating my iPad, restarting, restarting the app (multiple times), restarting the Lumi keyboard, all to no avail. This is a software issue and so inherent to the basic functionality, I wonder if this was even tested? I don’t know that there is any way to use this application and therefore the hardware (keyboard) is also useless? Very disappointing.
