I NEVER WRITE REVIEWS

So I’m going to start by saying I’ve been on his app not even an hour and it gets me wanting more and more. I’ve never learned so much the way this system is put together. It has all the topics I’m interested in very light with the amount of words per card. I love that it gives you key details to remember and YOU CAN SAVE THEM to go back and look at them. I’m impressed and wish this came into my life sooner!

Ok I don’t have many negative things to say about this app, but I have one thing I feel like you guys can also benefit from is the choice of words. There’s nothing wrong with learning big word vocabulary I want nothing more then to learn bigger words to add to my day to day convos. I just wish there was a way I can click on a word I’m unfamiliar with so I can get some kind of definition or description of what the word means without having to jump in and out between the app and the dictionary haha.

Overall, I love it I will be using this everyday. Thank you for this!

Imprint got me over my social media addiction

I watched the documentary The Social Dilemma and thought it was time to do something about my social media addiction. I was going on Instagram the second I woke up every day without realizing it, looking for my first dopamine hit. Once I started Imprint, it would send me a notification as soon as I opened Instagram and I started transitioning over time to spend more time on Imprint. It exposes you to information from books and it gives a visual impression and condenses it to easily understandable texts. Not only did I stop social media, but I started reading books again, talking to people more in real life and I didn’t realize how it had changed me, but I felt a lot better emotionally too. I LOVE Imprint! I’ll renew it every year!

Amazing!! app

Imprint is an incredible learning app! I love how it combines teaching with interactive testing, making it easy to retain what I learn. The XP and leveling system adds a fun, rewarding layer, especially with daily challenges that keep you motivated. It’s the perfect solution for anyone wanting to explore new topics without needing hours to sit and read.

Highly recommend it for anyone looking to learn something new in an engaging, time-efficient way!

Charged subscription despite cancelling almost a week ago

The app is not too bad, although I found the information was too simple for my interests, so I cancelled the same day I subscribed (well within the cancellation period!!). I definitely checked that was the case I my subscriptions. Just got charged a month today, although it says that I cancelled my subscription. Disappointed to say the least.

Won’t be staying

It’s not controversial to say that everyone is fed up with subscription software, the death by a thousand cuts of having dozens of different active subscriptions.

But what really puts me off is when a nice-to-have product prices itself as a need-to-have and then channels you through several layers of investment building before dropping the punchline: this is not free, and it is very expensive.

Anyone can justify their price when they view their product in isolation, and as if this will be some groundbreaking value add to the consumer.

On paper I’m exactly the target audience of this app, but I won’t be using it, it’s too expensive when viewed against the sheer number of better cheaper options, like my library.

I can’t wait until this wave breaks. If this was truly an astonishing app it would make sense to sell it cheap to the millions of people who would use it, but it’s not so it has to try and grab revenue in big chunks from a few people who commit and a few people who forget to cancel their subscription.

Outstanding

I don’t often write reviews, but this app deserves it.

The way it breaks down books into bitesized pieces with animated illustrations is an excellent way to read and replace doom scrolling, particularly great for anybody like me who struggles with doom scrolling and finding time to read books in everyday life.

The curation of the books is excellent, and you can tailor it to your interests. The illustrations are great. And I fully appreciate the amount of work that has gone into this, not just the illustration and animation in each page, but the amount of time and thought that has gone into visualising each concept to help make it easier to understand. From reading other reviews I think some people have no idea of this, so it’s an absolute bargain.

As long as I don’t run out of books that interest me I think this app is one of the best I’ve used.

Has potential but the paywall ruins it

As someone who works on apps myself I completely understand why you have to charge your users. However, I do feel as though Imprint doesn’t even give you an opportunity to get a real flavour of the app before they ask you to pay.

I think offering 2-3 *free* reads across topics you’ve selected gives your users a chance to get a feel for the app. Offering them a tangible way to see if it makes a difference for them. I believe I’ve downloaded the app previously so I wasn’t offered a free trial when I redownloaded. But if that isn’t a standard then that’s also disappointing.

I appreciate the levels of effort that goes into the UX/UI as well as all the illustrations. I know for sure that costs a lot. But such a good resource becomes incredibly inaccessible when you limit its functionality till people pay. You gotta try before you buy so people feel like £70 a year is worth it.

Highly recommend

I’m never one to usually consciously go and write reviews on apps, however, this app is my favourite by a long shot and had to be done
I tried and tested a number of self-help or similar education styled apps, but none compare to this. Easy to work through, easy to remember the content and easy to track your progress.

Love the little quizzes as well, would love to see more of these.

One suggestion is to have a widget to put onto your homescreen

I can finally read books

I have a very high IQ, nevertheless I can’t read books even if a gun is pointing at me. I find excessive information unnecessary and a waste of time which overwhelms me. I have ADHD and I overthink every sentence I read which takes much more time than you think. FINALLY a way to enjoy absorption of information and actually remember stuff. I can remember nothing with so much going on in my brain. Thank you from the bottom of my heart!!!

A worthless money grab.

Save yourself the time and avoid downloading. You will initially get asked a series of questions so they can “personalise your experience”. Next thing you know you’re asked to agree to a free trial. The app is pretty much unusable without a subscription, despite it being advertised as free. You didn’t create this knowledge, you’re simply presenting it in a different way. So stop gatekeeping it like this.
