This latest update was nothing but problems. Feels like Deeper is focusing more on trying to sell their premium maps then working on making their app function better. I was loosing signal and it would take forever to reconnect then it kept showing me two deeper with the same number. There was no one else near me for 30kms so no chance of a second deeper

Fail for me

Firstly the app didn’t acknowledge the account status.
Can’t load premium maps, asking for an internet connection when trying to use it on waters, that’s if it hasn’t locked me out of premium maps.
Cannot opt out of cloud storage. Creating maps for Deeper isn’t something I readily agree with.
If the app actually worked correctly for me it be a higher rating, but after nearly 4 years with some stress & very frustrating days of trying to get a depth on some waters, on others it’s patchy and on a few more no problem. The app needs a refresh. The hardware I’ve no doubts about.

Hi there, thanks a lot for your review and sorry for the issues you had. If you're on the water connected to your Deeper, your phone will not have any internet connection. This is how modern phones work - if they're connected to a WiFi device, they will lose internet access even if you have 4G or 5G enabled. Please go to menu on the left side of the screen and access Offline Maps. Download offline map of your area, and the app will load maps properly even if you don't have internet access. You can opt out of cloud storage if you use the app in Guest mode. But keep in mind that backing up your scans to the cloud ensures that you'll be able to access them even if you change your phone. Deeper sonar and boat attachments

So I have had my Deeper pro + for a while now and it replaced my castable Deeper and I have found that it’s the best sonar for fishing I have used. It’s Versatility to connect to my bait boat and my rubber rib boat so I don’t have to have different sonars for different applications. The app I use on a Samsung Tab A9 and the app and Deeper work so well and it’s easy to set up and to operate making finding your spots so easy. Thumbs up from me.

I have just upgraded from the original Bluetooth model i have been using for the last 6 or so years which I love. This new unit and the new app are unbelievable picture is so much better, so many more settings and I love the 3d mapping in the new app. Only used the new one twice but extremely impressed and can’t wait to see what else it can do. I use this unit landbased fishing for Mulloway in Australia and have just started a Mulloway guiding service where I will be demonstrating and recommending to my clients.

Don’t waste your money!

It’s like Sex Panther cologne from the movie Anchor Man, “60% of the time it works every time” but even less reliable. Connectivity is spotty (at best) even with both the Sonar unit and Phone fully charged. If by some miracle or sheer dumb luck you are able to get a connection, the App displays nothing; no depth reading, no contour, no fish, just a blank screen, you may as well be looking at a Sonar Scan of an empty Parking Lot. So you’re basically paying $100+ for nothing more than a Bobber (or a paper weight). The only reason why I gave this 1 Star is because 0 Stars is not an option. Do not waste your money on this piece of junk, you'd be better off throwing the $100 into the water.

PS. And the Customer "Support" is even worse. They claim that minor scratches (that are not even as deep as the Serial Number etched into the unit) are indications of "lots of physical impacts against hard objects", so they are using that as an excuse to absolve themselves from any responsibility for the product.

Great when it works, which is 10% of the time

It’s like Sex Panther Cologne from the movie Anchor Man “60% of the time it works every time” but even less effective. Connectivity is spotty (at best) even when both devices are fully charged. 90% of the time you connect to the transponder and get nothing, no data, no fish, no contour display, just a blank screen. So essentially you are paying $100+ for nothing more than a Bobber. I honestly think that the 4.5 Star rating is inflated by the fact that it is impossible to give this piece of junk a 0 star rating

100 % worth it

I love the app and the features, love that company comes up always with the new update in with each time it gets better and better. I had an issue in the beginning after contacting with support all my problems was resolved. It awesome that it saves my scans and I can come back on my laptop and plan my fishing trip for next time.

Deeper App

The app is a really useful tool when on the bank, it gives clear info and what is in the lake or river you want to fish on, years of knowledge and experience can be gathered easily. It’s made a big difference to how I fish and improved my catch rate.

Not worth the price

For $200 it’s not worth the price. It does not work under 3-4ft of water. Connectivity to phone is choppy at times, especially when you’re in an area of poor phone reception. It does not map nor save depth charts for you even after you scan a lake. You can see the depth as you’re boating around, but it doesn’t save nor add it to the maps on the app. The fish detection does appear accurate at times as I’ve caught a few fish when it says there are fish. The app features are very basic and not much options are available to switch between. The ball itself is way too heavy to cast unless you have a heavy rated rod with very strong line. This now requires you to carry 1 additional rod when you’re shore fishing. Battery life is very good, but your phone battery will drain quickly because it needs to be on consistently with max brightness in order to see it while you’re outdoor. In conclusion, for half the price it’s decent, but I wouldn’t buy it for full price. I bought mine for 32% off and still decided to returned it.

Hi there, thanks for your review! Sorry to hear about the issues you had. I'm sure those issues can be fixed. 1. The Deeper does work under 3-4ft of water, as long as you enable narrow beam in the settings on the left side menu. All sonars in the world need a minimal depth to work. With narrow scanning beams sonars need less actual depth to work. 2. Connectivity is not affected by poor phone reception. You can use the Deeper even if there's no cell service at all. Something else is affecting your connect. Be sure to check out these tips, they'll definitely help: https://deepersonar.com/us/en_us/manual/maximizing-connectivity 3. Make sure you are using Boat mode when creating depth charts. You can view your depth charts via the History of the app, or on the main screen as long as you're no further than 6 miles way from the lake. 4. No sonar in the world has accurate fish detection algorithms. But you can interpret fish with almost 100% accuracy by turning off fish icons. Fishes will appear as arches or lines, and you can tell the size of the fish based on the thickness of the arc. A heavy road and thick braided line is recommended. 6. The Deeper uses Wi-Fi of your phone as well as GPS, so yeah, it can use up the phone battery.
