  • Amazing, and some suggestions.

I’m currently a graduate student working on my doctorate degree full-time alongside work. This game has been a breath of fresh air between all the stress. This game is so addicting I literally have to throw my phone across the room to avoid the temptation of playing this game when I should be studying.

This game has so much potential. The weekly league play is fun.

    Suggestions:

Install a world ranking system where you can see how you stand against other players worldwide. A system that accounts for total wins, card collection size/quality, league play finishes, and other factors.

Also it would be fun to have scheduled live tournaments that you can sign up for to win rewards. Maybe like an 8 or 16 player bracket (or bigger) that goes live until it’s finished.

Anyways, just some fun ideas I thought I would put out there for the developers to see and take into consideration. Otherwise, this game is amazing.

  • Enjoyable, but very limited gameplay leaves much to be desired

CUE is informative, colorful, and the cards are great fun to collect.
But. When it comes to actual gameplay, it lacks the depth and fluidity an experienced card game player would expect, and leaves me disappointed.

The ranked gameplay system is entirely broken. The game matches you randomly with players of all kinds of skill sets. Whoever is available, that is who you play against, and if the wait is too long you just get matched against a bot.
The result is matched games where you either absolutely stomp a boring bot who plays with no strategy, or get steamrolled by a much better deck and have no chance of even competing.
    The experience is extremely frustrating.

Additionally the best players are the ones who pay. It’s inevitable for this kind of game. The pay wall is quite high, and a casual player has no chance against someone whose deck is stacked with fusions and ultra rare cards.

The strategy mechanics are shallow compared to other titles. You’re pretty much limited to: combos, power boost, power drain, energy boost, and energy drain. The card’s interactions with each other is extremely limited. Pushing a power bar back and forth gets old very quickly.
Over time the game begins to feel repetitive and kind of dull.

My opinion: the concept is superb, but the game needs a total overhaul before it can start approaching mass appeal. 3/5

  • Take a chance and you will Love

I saw this game many times looking for new TCG mobile games and I always avoided it because at first glance it looks super lame. I’m a individual who is into Yugioh, Magic and Digimon TCG games and play at competitive levels so I feel like I understand a good card game when I see one and after I finally gave this game a chance I became instantly hooked! The game mechanics are simple but requires Strategy in the higher ranks, this game rewards F2P players and actually sets you up pretty dang nice, if you want to invest money $20 will actually go a long way and get you what you need. The thing that makes this game better then other TCG mobile games is the trading system, yes the trading system is amazing and actually gives you a huge chance to get cards you actually need and the community is actually very giving and will take junk for that legendary you need, on top of it all duplicates are actually nice in this game unlike other games where you need duplicates to make your cards stronger this game you can use your duplicates to trade to other players it’s pretty fantastic. Try the game for about 5 solid hours I bet you will think differently if it then.

    Developer Response

Hi MN_Seahawk, thanks for such a kind review! It's great to hear that you are enjoying the community and trading system too. We'd also be interested in hearing your thoughts on what we could do to appeal to more competitive players such as yourself. If you'd like to, then please send us some feedback to support@avid.games :)
  • Game review

This is a great game with lots of potential with future updates. There is things that can be added into the game that will make it a lot better such as clans or some sort of team aspect where players can make a clan and invite others to join it and where other players can look for a clan to join and it can help them by getting cards maybe or having practice games with each other and clan wars would be really cool in this game kind of like a clash royale aspect to it would be awesome. Card rarity being clarified on cards like common, uncommon, rare, epic and legendary to help make trading more fun.

  • My honest Opinion

The game is honestly fun and quirky. Its great fun from a gameplay standpoint and i love the different cards and their abilities. Like how ancient Rome cards get abilities to help you come back from losing because of ancient Romes military prowess. There is fun combos as well as different cards with abilities that match really well. The strategy is really fun if you take the time to learn it. The game’s silly aspect on the other hand keeps the balance between strategy hardcore and casual play style even. There are a few micro transactions, but its a free game so i would expect no less. Its defiantly not a game that you need to pay win, you only pay for extra card packs and limited edition cards. There is a slight educational aspect, as cards come with descriptions and history on the back, but this is in no way an educational game (it is not made specifically to teach). Over all a great game. 10/10

  • Coolest game I own!

I’ve never been into card games before, until I started playing CUE! I love being able to compete with the top players by using combo cards to break their hearts!

During the last update, the app wouldn’t load, so I contacted the CUE team to troubleshoot what went wrong. They replied within the next day and it took about 4 days to get fixed. I was surprised with how fast the response was and how supportive the team was during this tough time! It forced me to get off my phone and hang out with my girlfriend.

Anyway, this game is my favorite mobile game that I have ever owned. I usually play sports, puzzle, and arcade type of games and never card games.

I love being able to everything and anything to beat my opponents. I’ve recommended this game to many friends already. Looking forward to new cards in the future!

  • CUE Cards Review

I downloaded this game expecting it to a crappy game with only like 50 cards or so that I’d delete within an hour. Ended up staying up an extra 3 hours playing this game. Been playing for 3 weeks almost and I still am finding out about new card packs daily and the game itself runs fairly smooth. Only issue is that once or twice during league games my app had frozen while trying to start, but you only gain trophies for league matches you can’t lose any so it didn’t even affect my score. Just had to relaunch the app and was back to playing. Love this game!! Hope y’all do too!

  • Fun educational game!

I’ve been playing Cue-cards about a week and so far enjoying it immensely! It’s the perfect blend of card pack opening and basic tcg style deck building/playing without feeling overwhelmed. The cards are very well balanced, even new players have a fighting chance in most battles providing they use a bit of strategy. My favorite deck so far are the dinosaurs and space cards. Cue cards is fine casual and educational! All cards are of real animals/items/people with great factoids in the back.

I have two idea/suggestions for this game: the matchup in league games can be a bit unbalanced. I am regularly placed against opponents who have fusion cards (so a premium or late game player) which are hard to win against. So maybe t racking win/loss records accords different weeks to help facilitate matches. The second idea is to buff log in bonuses to reward players for consecutive login days.

Overall very fun to play and I look forward to many more hours of game time!

  • Bust out your wallet

It’s a card game. So collecting all available cards is part of the game. Well they offer new cards daily, most of the time the packs have a couple of really desirable cards but are limited cards and only available for a short time, sometimes only one day. How do you collect all the cards? You have to have diamonds or coins to buy themed packages of random cards. While there are daily earnings, you will not have enough to chase down a pack containing new cards without having bought some diamonds for cash. The trade system is a nice and easy way to trade cards with other players. Be careful trading, there is always the chance that you are coming out on the short end of a trade. Now the actual gameplay is easy to learn, easy to play, but it takes some time and effort to build a strong deck, and some of that goes back to card collection. Anyway, fun game, but as it is a collection game, you will most likely break down and buy some gems with real money.

  • Quirky, Original, Simple, Fun

I am a Pokémon card player mostly but in between sets I was a bit bored and looking for a new card game to get into. This is pretty simple as far as card games go, not a ton of mechanics to learn. Whether that’s a pro or con depends what you are looking for.

The game is pretty generous with free stuff. Lots of free gems to be had on a daily basis and you can get quite a bit of cards that way without paying anything. Not super grindy, and the built in trading system is cool.

Overall really fun! Also surprisingly educational - I have learned a lot by reading the cards. Really enjoying so far, looking forward to more cards and sets being released
