  • total rip off!!

you pay 6.99gbp to use the app/artwork selected 6 days only!!!
  • This APP charges to use it

A little ridiculous to charge people for limited use of each sculpture. This app is essentially free marketing for KAWS and the app developer after people share their creation on social media. If you were to charge for the app itself and not the sculptures that would make more sense...
  • Meh

As an artist myself i saw this as a great idea, not gonna lie. I started using the app and just wasn’t functioning where i live. I spent about 20 min just double-tapping my phone just to stare at nothing. Again good idea, but probably should’ve done more testing on app.
  • Terrible app.

Don’t download. Its such a waste of time
  • This had so much potential.

I was willing to pay $7 because this is one of my favorite artists. But when I found out it was to rent a virtual sculpture for a few days and the height of it was to just take pictures I realized this wasn’t worth it for me. Could have been better to actually collect these virtual sculptures and keep them because that’s what an actual collection is. If you’re looking to improve I suggest you:

Allow sculptures to be kept once purchased

    Allow trades among collectors

  • Bogus

I got the app hoping to take pictures around the city with the kaws sculpture “floating” in the sky like advertised on Instagram . Unfortunately : 1. That piece is not even an option to buy 2. The ones you can buy don’t allow you to manipulate the size to make it larger than everything around it 3. The purchase only lasts for 7 days.... I expected much much more for a 7$ purchase . Total ripoff

  • 🥴

I own an actually KAWS piece but I refuse to pay for a virtual one. Thought it would be kind of fun to play around with an AI version but I deleted the app after I realized you have to pay to temporarily own it.
  • Not intuitive and should have a trial period.

When you open the app you are prompted to double tap to place art, yet there is no response. After playing around with the app for a while I realized you have to pay $7 to use it for one week. At least give people a 24 hour trial period to test it out and see if they like it first.
  • $7 for one AR piece for 7 days access only

$7 for one AR piece for 7 days access only
To each his own. But seems overpriced to me.
  • An app for people that like wasting money

Seems like a cool app for a couple minutes of fun, but I have absolutely no interest in participating because it requires you to spend 6 or 7 dollars to merely RENT the ability to see the AR sculpture. People will pay this stupid price just to take a few photos or videos to post on social media and then be done with it. Nothing more than a costly quick fix that likely leaves you empty inside after coming to the realization that you paid 6 dollars to look at something on your phone. It’s a ripoff and comes off as a cash grab on a scummy level. To KAWS and developers: Either charge a price for full app access, or you charge 6 dollars and then the sculpture is yours to look at as much as you want, which let’s be honest, is not going to be all that much. What a waste.

    Developer Response

Thank you for your review. We'd love all our audience to experience the app but do not encourage the gathering of people right now due to COVID-19. A small version of COMPANION (EXPANDED) is now free until April 15 to enjoy at home or a place of your choosing. We can appreciate this app may not be for everyone, so thank you for giving it a try!
