  • Perfect sudoku game - nearly perfect iOS game

One of the few puzzle games that I feel like I learn while playing it and that I feel smart after solving a puzzle (and not dumb for using a hint).

My only major issue: I play on iPhone and iPad and the sync to iCloud feature just doesn’t work as expected. I think I need to manually sync to the cloud in order to save progress between the two devices? Why isn’t iCloud synced at least every time I complete a puzzle (if not with each move).

  • pretty good, minor gripes

it's definitely helped me learn how to play and it's been very helpful with that.
but I don't like to cross out numbers in the cells where they can't go, I find doing it that way clutters the screen a lot. this wouldn't be a problem except going without them makes the hints essentially useless. if I have a number marked in 2 cells in a box I know they don't go in the other cells, I'm asking for a hint for help elsewhere, but it'll always tell me I need to cross out the number for the other cells first, leading to a cluttered screen and a very low score as I go through many hints telling me what I already know.

  • Great customization!

UPDATE: I messed around with the settings and disabled most of the hand-holding things I disliked. The level of customization is really amazing. Changed from 3 stars to 4 stars. User interface takes a little to get used to, but is pretty good.

OLD REVIEW: I could see how this would be helpful for someone learning how to play sudoku, but as someone who’s used to pen and paper, this seems too easy. You can tap on the numbers to show you what squares could possibly be that number, which takes away the “aha!” moment from me and just makes me feel like the computer is doing all the work. Add that to the auto-enabled “feature” that only lets you put a note of a number if it’s possible with your current. Board state. Sounds good at first, but it takes most of the fun out of it for me. Could be good for others, but way to many crutch features for me.

  • Amazing for all levels

This app is AMAZING for beginners - it teaches everything from the most basic to the most advanced techniques, and it ACTUALLY teaches, giving you practice problems. There’s even a hint mode that only tells you what technique you need to use next, without actually telling you where it is! And, it had some of the most satisfying sfx when you solve rows/columns. Highly, HIGHLY recommended for all levels of sudoku players - from first timers to old timers.

  • Not Suitable for Mac M1

I really liked this game it was fun, but I found it on the app store for Macbook and was playing on my laptop. I played the game for maybe 30 minutes on a brand new macbook air M1 (literally got it the day befoore) and it drained my battery extremly quick and my device was super hot. I was very confused until I checked what was affecting my battery and saw that this game took a huge toll on my computer. As soon as I removed this game from my computer all the overheating issues vanished and have not returned. I really liked the game but upset because this was categorized in the section ipad& iphone games for Macbook M1.

  • Awesome but…

I love this game and it’s a great time spender! But with its pros and it’s cons there one problem that is kinda frustrating, and that is if I made a mistake and I DON’T want to fix the bored but press a square it’ll start restarting! It’s very frustrating! But after that , it’s a reallyyyy good game and maybe you can say what number it needs like if there’s a 4 and you need a new 4 you would not know,
So you can remove a four to fix ,this instead of restarting , thank you for reading this review!

  • Still unresponsive and rude

I was waiting for a sign it was ready to let me play (because It’s still unresponsive for up to 90 seconds) when I saw a little dot next to one of the scores for the last few days. Apparently I had made the top 250 and didn’t notice because they tell you every day that you didn’t make it. Who wants to read that? So I dismiss it as quickly as possible. I never saw that I had made it. That’s a long winded way of saying stop doing that! Tell people who are in the top 250 and stop making people acknowledge that they didn’t.

Also fix the highlighting after you enter a number.

  • Love this game

Hi, I’m a sudoku junkie and love the fact that you’ve created a way to teach us the different techniques for solving a puzzle. As i learn I appreciate how you give great examples of what to look for in each technique. The only complaint I have is that when you are crossing out an option in a block you can’t always assume that the / will stay selected. So when I play the arcade version I lose an entire ❤️ when I want to exclude a number in a box but the / has clicked off and the game assumes that I tried to put that number in the box thereby assuming I made a wrong move. Is there a way to be sure that / stays selected?
    Thanks and great work!

  • Love the techniques! - some ideas to improve

Awesome app to learn sudoku techniques/tricks from basic to the most advanced. Before I got this app I tried just looking up different strategies when I was stuck on a difficult puzzle, but the interactive tutorial part of the app made it so much easier to understand and use.

As for improvements, I’d like to throw out the idea of a “fast input” option like some sudoku apps have, so you can keep a specific number selected for multiple entries across the board. It’s one of the only features I miss from other apps!

Also, I’d like to second other comments about having the option to disable the daily leaderboard, as well as the option to go back and play the days you missed for that month. I don’t want to miss out on a puzzle just because I had a busy day!

Just some thoughts but I’ll keep playing anyway!

  • Love the game but there are bugs

I never thought I would get into playing sudoku, I always thought it was for old people but this game it one of my favorites! I really wanted to give it 5 stars but there are bugs that need to be fixed.

Sometimes words are cut off from the screen. And the AI in create mode is pretty broken, when it tells me that my board is not solvable, it asks me if I want to restore it, when I click yes the it just deletes my entire board. Also when in create mode, when you click on a cell it shows you the possible all possible answers for that cell, but sometimes the choices it gives are wrong( having two 9s in the same column )

That is all the bugs that I experienced, and I hope they will be fixed because I really love this game!
