Glitches
The game is really fun, but I ran into several problems. The first one is that the sound stops playing and requires me to restart the app to fix it. The second one is though I’ve only been playing for a few hours and have spent none of my gold, suddenly my gold is -16,000 and all of my gems vanished. I didn’t buy anything. I didn’t spend anything. I spent 70 of my 100 gems to speed up a book, but I spent nothing else. Literally haven’t gotten anything in the store. So idk why my money is now irredeemably low. Like there is NO way I can ever recover from that??????? I sent an email to support. Currently waiting on a response.
EDIT: I opened the app up and now it’s at -7000 gold…. Still not great.

Can’t update app to new version
I love this game and play all the time, however, one of my friends recently pointed out that I’m still playing an older version of the app that doesn’t offer power-ups. I had no idea that I was missing this feature among others. I’ve checked my app to see if I’m up to date—I am. And I’ve also deleted and re-downloaded with no luck. I tried contacting support through the app, but the button to reach out doesn’t work. Confused and a little upset that I’m not receiving the full suite of gameplay, especially since it’s an overall awesome game.Show lessIreallyluvthejonasbrothers
Fun game, but features make you accidentally use gems
The game is fun, but the books, gems, and gold are unnecessary. I don’t see the point. Regardless, the new feature that allows you to extend your game time for gems is frustrating. First it makes the game unfair, since one person may be able to buy more time while another can’t. It leans the game toward people who pay money. Also, the option to extend time pops up right over the board, so if you’re working fast to enter words, you accidentally click it, spending gems you never intended to spend. All of my gems were accidentally spent quickly when this feature was added and not as I intended. I definitely wouldn’t buy more to throw them away accidentally.Show lessBobette134

I really like this game BUT…..
I have to play with the sound off and several times I’ve been swiping away finding words when the game ends and I’ve accidentally swiped to use gems to extend a game I really didn’t want to extend. Now I have hardly any gems left! And I refuse to pay money to buy gems. Even if I did, they could accidentally be used this way again.
If you put in a screen asking if you really want to spend gems maybe this wouldn’t happen. I’m sure I’m not the only one. I would give a five star rating if it wasn’t for this frustrating problem.Show lessgrulla9

Big fan of this type of word game so i was excited to start playing this
Some of the words that it allows are a little funky and definitely conjunction words. Sometimes i wish the board i get wasnt all vowels almost or 5 S’s in a line somehow.
I really wish i was able to chat with the opponent that I am versing. I think it would add an amazing and more immersive experience to the game
Also i wish there was an ad free version. Totally understand watching an ad for a free prize or opening a book - but i wish we could pay like 1.99 to get rid of the ones that appear after you finish a game

I used to love playing this game with family and with unknown participants. All of my family have dropped out and most of the other people I played with are also gone. Your idea of improving the game by adding ridiculous books, gems, etc is clearly from your perspective only. I understand the goal to increase revenue, but you went way to far. I read other reviews since you changed the game…. I saw no positive reviews since you made the changes. This site says your rating is 4.7. I recommend you recalculate with the scores given after the changes were made. I am guessing the score will be significantly less. I also notice your responses to those posting negative reviews…. “Give it a try”, “you’ll get used to it”. You are clearly not taking our comments seriously. I have no problem watching the ads, but please do not force me to buy “things” to win. Bad form.Show lessJmbmar

However, since our test results are looking good so far and since those changes have been live in other markets for over a year with positive results, we decided to stick with them for now. Really enjoy this game and the new changes were ok once I got used to them. However… it is getting on my last nerve. I have been saving up my gems to get a book and I can pretty much kiss ever getting one goodbye. I have clicked on buy more time after a game by mistake 3x now and it’s so frustrating because it’s like throwing gems in the trash. Also, I have had a few ads covering the continue button where you can’t click on continue and you have to restart the app to get out of it.Show lessKelllllllllllllllllllllll

We should have the ability to sell books at any time, not when it's convenient to force players to watch ads to open one. I've had a few epic and legendary books disappear because my queue was full with the common white books. I have to leave the game to wait for the countdown to complete to open a book then start the countdown for the rare books. This is the best way to keep me from playing the game. Used to LOVE this game. Would play regularly with friends and family. The new version is awful. I don’t want to have the computer give me words. I want to find them. I don’t want to spend gems to save trophies. I want to earn them. I don’t want to spend gems to get more time. The added b.s. hasn’t made the game more exciting. The point of a word game is to challenge your intellect, not to reply on computer hacks. Please bring the “classic” version back. Thanks for the feedback! While we understand that the latest changes might not be for everyone, we believe they add another well-needed level of metagame to Word Blitz. Please note that in the case of inspirations, you have to actually earn one by finding words, which means you need to use your skills to get one. Since our tests are looking good so far, we will most likely not go back to the old version of the game. This was a fun game that let you play others at a similar skill level. You could play a round, set it down, and finish the match later. Simple and clean.
Presumably to trigger revenue from add-ons, they now have added “bot” intervention so that inputs from your opponent and even yourself are supplemented by computer inputs. So you are playing half-human half-bot opponents. Who wants that? (Not me). Perhaps offer a “human mode” option and leave the bots to those who want to watch a robot play for them. Or create a new game called Word Blitz Spectator for those who want to watch instead of play.

Please note that in most games, only 2 Inspirations (= 2 words) are rewarded to each person, not that big of an impact on the individual round.
