Favorite workout app by far

I love this app so much. There aren’t any obnoxious overly peppy people cheering you on, lol… the narrator is super soothing. You select your workout time and target areas and it creates a workout for you with no fluff, i.e., no intros, no chatting, just gets right to it. And you can save favorite workouts. I’m a new mom who enjoyed barre classes before I was pregnant, and this makes that part of my life feel accessible again. The prenatal app from this same developer was also great.

Love it

Very well explained. Lots of options to choose from. You have your personal trainer! I have a time limit Bcz of small baby. So I choose what suits best my routine.

Almost great

I love the exercises but would love to see a warm up option, and a slower transition between exercises. I have to pause the video so that I can into position first.

Great app!

All downdog apps are fantastic but perfect this one needs a bit more tuning. The transitions from one exercise to another are too abrupt so often one needs to pause to move/find position, move a matt or chair before hitting play again. The frequent lack of transition time can be a bit frustrating.
Something i noticed that unlike in the yoga app if you choose here to focus on one group muscle you’ll get exercises just for these muscles. In the yoga app you’ll just get more exercise for the particular body part but everything will be covered anyway. This difference can be both an advantage and disadvantage
Otherwise it’s a great workout!

BURN!

Always a good burn, workouts never disappoint.

Love this workout

Great muscle toning workout. Different workout each time, so you're always working a full range of muscles, not just the same moves every time. Love the length options to fit in to how much time I have available.

The best

I haven’t tried too many workout apps on the market, but the Down Dog series of apps are amazing. I’ve been using these for a couple years now and am hooked! They’re always improving their content and have some great user studies because the app feedback on posture is always catching me with my mistakes spot on. Music is good, ability to customize settings is also great.

Not great for beginners

I wanted to love this. The exercises are great, but there is too little time between transitions, making it hard to keep up. Also, I found I had to keep moving my phone so I could see the instructions, and keep checking back to the video. It would be better if the voiceover was more descriptive so I don’t need to check as much.

Barre

The yoga app (down dog) is great but Barre is awful. The only pro is that it does provide a large number of exercises for the body part you want to focus on. The negatives are many: 1) arms are completely left out, you can target most other body parts but not arms at all 2) there is no adjustment for ability level. Many of the excises given are too hard for me and the video doesn’t provide any modifications for making the move easier or harder 3) the verbal directions are terrible. The instructor says vague things like “lift” (lift what? In what direction?) “tuck” (tuck what? How?) “squeeze” (squeeze what? For how long?) “lift to the side” (what side?). And, even if you watch the video while trying to do the exercises it is very hard to see what movements the demonstrator is doing. 4) sometimes numbers are shown on the screen counting down how much longer you need to do the exercises and sometimes they don’t appear at all. It is frustrating to not know how much longer an exercise will last. 5) the music is very repetitive. I’ve heard the same songs over and over.

Best exercise app

When I first found this app, I was so impressed with all the options for customization. I am able to pick the music, the. voice, type of practice and body focus areas for each workout or session. I started with yoga and was so happy with the app I bought the subscription. Was completely surprised to find out when you buy one you get them all. I now use all of them barre, meditation , HiiT, running and yoga. What a gem I found in this app. Thank you
