Waiting 30-45 seconds a can or bottle for like 10c is not worth it when there’s places that will just take it, weigh it, and pay for it with an app.

Working Quite Well, 1 Suggestion
This has proven to be a very convenient way for me to redeem the cans and bottles for which I have paid a recycling deposit.
I have a redemption machine within walking distance and I can check its full status on the app. If it has enough space to take my cans and bottles I can schedule a walk by it. Otherwise, I can go by another day.
Today for the first time, I tried the transfer to PayPal feature, and it worked immediately.
What I would really like to be able to do is to set this particular machine as my favorite, or default, redemption machine, but so far I cannot do that it appears.Show lessTJtuner
Logging on
The first two times I had trouble logging on. I placed my phone flat against the wireless symbol but discovered that it wasn’t necessary to touch the machine, only pointing the iPhone at the symbol was sufficient. Today I discovered that the apple wallet was asking me to double click to confirm.
The machine is a great service to the public. Before I discovered Olyns I waited until I had several bags, usually several months, before hauling the lot to a recycling station, where I waited in the sun for my turn. Now I get cry back in almost real time. No more unsightly piles of cans in the back yard!Show lessN6DF
Works as advertised
If you’re in an area where the machines are around, this is a pretty easy way to collect the crv on them. The payout is digital and instant.wafleem
Machine sometimes broken
The machine is sometimes broken, like the first time we did this the machine wasn’t working so, we had to go to a different Olyns machine 10 minutes away. But overall, 5 stars!!😃😃ArtsNCraftsForever
Slooooow machines, glitchy app
App doesn’t show when a machine is down for maintenance. Also takes forever to recognize a UPC. Will light up green to insert bottle and then chastize for putting in too soon and turn red. Wastes a good 5-10 min to recycle a handful of bottles. Not worth itubuntu_sf
Recycling is trending
I downloaded this app in April and was able to drop off some recycling on each walk to the grocery store
Now it’s getting a little more difficult as the machine will be full and unable to accept my recycling more often
I’ve had to start checking on the app whether my local machine has space for my recycling.

Similar to other reviewers, the containers are full and never seem to be emptied from glass bottles. I try to avoid consuming as much plastic as I can but I still consume glass.
Nearby containers are ALWAYS full of glass. Either make the glass container bigger or empty them more often and notify when they are empty of what you’re trying to recycle.
Driving 20 or 30 miles to find an empty container is a deal breaker.Show lessA nickname tha is not taken

Installed App. When App is initiated it opens a blank white screen & remains that way.
Olyns user at Milpitas Safeway told me machine is always down for him. He left disgusted with Olyns. As best I can tell he is right about the availability of the machine at that location. Service desk offered no insights into when it is best to try to use; told me best insights come from the App … which is no help at all to me.Show lessda Family Zookeeper
