Recycling easy and convenient. Here’s why I love it: I can recycle when I go grocery shopping. Recycling is self-serve. I get my CRV refund through PayPal ( not a handful of coins). The app is intuitive and easy to use. Well done Olyns!

Great idea, terrible execution
We visited three different locations on Saturday, all showing plenty of capacity, but they all indicated “full” message when we tried to use them—yet the capacities on the app hadn’t changed. I get that these (very small) machines could fill up quickly, but the real problem is the inaccuracy of the app, which wastes a ton of time. Extremely frustrating experience.

Works well when you get used to it
I came across this machine while walking past my local Smart & Final.
Downloaded the app and started putting some of my empties in a shopping bag as I passed this machine on my daily walk
First time I tried using the machine. It was a little difficult. What you have to know is not so much to open the app to start but to open, your “Wallet” and select the Olyns “card “and with that open bring your phone close to the machine so that it will sense it and ask you to insert your empty, undamaged, redeemable container into the hole. once I learned that, it has become my regular practice to put a few cans in my bag and drop them off at the nearby machine.

It’s all right
This is a good way to make some few bucks here and there.
It takes some time but it works very well.
You are getting paid for every single container.
You will only be considered making decent “profit” if you come to a machine with 40-50 bottles at least 2-3 times a month.
The money you make is nothing significant, but really it’s just a little to make it worth the effort as not everyone wants to drive to a facility to drop off their stuff

Love the feature on top recyclers which make recycling an interesting contest.
New 2024 changes made it way worse, not worth it anymore
They made it harder to recycle items now, new operations and UI changes are for the worse. The business development staff and product managers at this company (if they are any) are the crappiest out there. I do NOT recommend this app nor its recycling service anymore!
It’s about time!
For years, we’ve all been ripped off getting a small percentage of what we pay in fees and it’s always been a huge hassle to recycle. This takes all the effort away from the customer service people at the stores by providing machine that do it all. Just wish there were more around and could handle a larger capacity. Great vision by Olyns!
