What’s the point?

While it’s interesting to have a score telling you how hard you can train on any given day, it seems to have no relationship to how I feel. I’ve worked out hard on days I wasn’t supposed to and had great workouts. I also had high scores the next day. I paid for the extra charts which don’t provide any useful information as well. Don’t waste your time or money.

Good start but.

Requires more information & data also dot will great if it incorporates the reason or what type of activity caused the decline of energy.

Very helpful…when it works

I find the information within the app extremely helpful in guiding the type of workout I should be doing and how intensive they should be. However, many times I find the information not being updated to when I really need it. It usually shows me the previous day’s data instead of data that I need to know now. This happens even when I use the breathe app prior to using the app. All relevant data also sync with the health app.

Absolutely Amazing App

I gave this app some time before putting this review out.

I feel this is the perfect timing to talk about training today as of last week I came down with Covid and I didn’t expect the see what the app displayed.

My body went into complete shock with the virus and training today showed my score as 0.0 and recommends to take a break! Even tho I am recovering and 80% recovered the app still recommend I go for a very gentle walk!! It’s incredible how it knows how my body feels and it’s a absolutely spot on. Even prior to falling sick upon waking up I have a score of racing and again the assessment by the app is on the ball. All in all an app that I can rely on not to exhaust myself in training and take the right beaks for full recovery. Well done team

1.6 update is terrible

I have used this app since early versions and love it. Unfortunately the latest update is a terrible one. Hiding the basic settings (which were previously available for free) behind an in-app purchase is basically forcing users to pay for the app (so why market it as free….just charge for the app up front). I fully embrace developers, App Store and in-app purchases and will not have an issue paying for something that is useful to me but I disagree completely on moves like this from developers to try to force the user to pay specially if the functionality was provided for free before.

Response from developer

Many thanks for your feedback. We are a very small self funded team and v1.6 has enabled us to fund continued development of this app. The free version is still fully functional, and the small in-app purchase unlocks additional functionality if you want but, of course, you are not forced in anyway to purchase it and you can continue using the app for free for as long as you want.

Good for free

Not as complex as something like Athlytic, but very good considering it is free.

No data

Enabled permissions on both phone and watch but still get …“Sorry but the required heart rate variability health data isn’t available”

Not changing

It’s not updating my score. It’s still stuck on it from 2 days ago and I’ve done three intense workouts since 😒 I wear my watch all day and log all of my workouts on it 🤷‍♀️

Not accurate when not working out

This app gave reasonable indicators when I was working out as I could see the rating drop after an intense workout.

But once I stopped working out completely due to Covid lockdown, the app would give me a rating between 0-2 each day even though I have barely moved! It looks like it is relying too heavily on some heart rate data and no consideration of workouts.

Thanks for the feedback. We currently do not use workout data only your underlying HRV (this is different from heart rate) to determine your score. If you would like us to investigate what is happening to make it less accurate for you the please drop us a line at support@trainingtodayapp.com - we would be more than happy to help

HRV is where it’s at!

This app is awesome. It constantly monitors HRV and RHR and probably some other things to determine what type of training you should do.

If you are in to knowing when you should train then you should read about how this app works. Once you understand the tech behind it you’ll be convinced this is the way to train. Cheers!
