  • Poor functionality. Doesn’t integrate to health apps including Apple Health

12WBT have not seriously invested in the functionality of their app for years - and it shows. The content may be good, but basic health app functionality like integrating to Apple Health is not there. They advertise integration to My Fitness Pal, but it is flakey and unreliable. And an incredibly low priority level for the support team. This time around it took 4 weeks to resolve and even then it was not possible to import historical data.

So why wouldn’t you use the inbuilt meal and exercise tracker? It is oversimplified and clunky. For example - you plan you meals a week in advance. But when you track to say you have eaten them you can’t make any customisations such as saying you only had a half portion of the planned meal, or that you amended the recipe to have prawns instead of chicken. No database of foods to even do a simple thing like saying you ate an apple.

    Same problems with exercise tracking.

The developers of this app severely underestimate the tech savvy of their target audience. The platform, and the support teams attitude, are a massive barrier. A big problem in an area where users are looking to a platform for motivation and to help make a
    Fitness journey smoother.

  • Slow app

It’s really slow and clunky to use.
I now use the website when looking at recipes and planning my shopping
  • Problems with app

I’ve used 12WBT quite a few times and this time I’m having trouble with the app. The app won’t open unless I’m at home connected to wifi. If I want to go to the gym and see my workout I have to open the workout at home and then screenshot the workouts to view at the gym. Same for if I want to add meals or any other info for the day I have to wait till I’m at home. I find this very inconvenient.

I understand there will be some glitches and things not always loading correctly but when it won’t login or open at all I find this very frustrating.

  • Great for tracking, mediocre for intuitiveness

This app has helped me in my challenge and I rely on it for tracking info and progress. Suggestions: mirror the website logic; linking to MyFitnessPal or FitBit should be automated; Add Garmin fitness tracker 🙏🏽

I’ve noticed that some fitness videos and mindset videos time out while others don’t.

For example this week there was comparison is the thief of joy and the hormones mindset videos. The comparison one I could watch straight through on my iPhone and it did not time out. The hormones video kept timing out and I had to keep tapping my phone to keep the video going.

This may be a small fix by ensuring a setting in the back end is corrected for each video.

    Otherwise I love it 🥰

  • Great app

    So easy to follow 😊
  • Great program but app is still buggy

I’ve done 14 rounds of 12WBT and love the program! The app is getting better but is still buggy. Even though I select ‘remember me’ the app still logs me out every time. It’s frustrating as I use this app 4-6 times per day. It’s still easier to access the program via the browser rather than the app.

  • It’s ok

A bit clunky to navigate through. You do get used to it but there’s no facility to find calorie count of random foods that are not on the eating plan e.g. if you have a Muslim bar or something else there’s no calorie look up on the app - you have to log into the actual site to find this which is annoying. Also it works be good if you could customize your app - how it looks etc to your own preferences.

    Developer Response

Hi Kylie-jane72 Thanks for sharing your feedback! The calorie lookup tool is coming. Please keep an eye out for more info soon. We have also recently made changes to improve the login experience so please let us know how you are finding it.
  • Can’t complain

So far so good can’t complain. Easy to navigate and always been a programme I believe in. I’ve not had trouble with programme’s playing even though I have no coverage being rural (my gym is in my shearing shed out of wifi reach). Improvement may be a link to music player of some kind as hard to hear voice over my tunes but I love the prompts so just go with it😂

  • Very buggy

I don’t normally write reviews but I am disappointed in the app. I have just joined the program and the app has frozen several times, shows a completely white screen on some videos and I need to completely reboot my phone to clear it. Other issues I’ve had include not saving my fitness data and hanging after I’ve opened the app and kicking me out of Google Chromecast when my iPhone’s lock screen turns back on (at least that one was easy fixed - I just disabled the lock screen).
Paying $160 for the program which seems fabulous 2 days into it but the app really disappoints. Perhaps it’s trying to do too much.
I now use the website instead which is really good but not as easy to navigate.

  • Good program, terrible app

Stupidly difficult to find things, doesn’t sync well with website to manage data or changes to meals in either direction. Supposed to connect to My Fitness Pal but even when fully confirmed in both apps and website it doesn’t pick up information.
Oh, and even though you can eventually get to the places to update measurements and meals manually, guess what single most significant measurement you can’t update anywhere in the app?
Go on. Have a think. I’ll wait.

    I’ll WEIGHT - geddit?!

That’s right. In a program that, while generally balanced about goals, demands a weekly weigh-in and encourages public sharing of losses down to grams, the one thing this stupid app can’t do AT ALL is accept your weight changes.

Kind of sums up its problems really.

Some of the 12WBT wealth needs to be spent on dumping this rubbish and starting again.
