Basic and OK but oh dear what has happened?
I used to get weekly emails advising the oil level in the tank. This stopped about six weeks ago and I’ve been unable to set it up again as being an error ‘unable to update settings’. Please get this sorted. Also, according to my supplier who also monitors the oil levels, the app is reading about 10% lower than it is, why is this?

Shoddy, dreadful app
I am so fed up with this app erasing my account . This happens every 3-4 weeks and I have to go through the tiresome process of reloading my tank information and a new password etc. There is also something in this app which prevents the password being stored in the iphone’s password memory so if I am thrown out of the app and write my email address in the user name again, my password doesnt come up. You need to do better Kingspan as this app is in danger of becoming a waste of time and irrelevant.

Low fuel alert
Hi guys, App appears to be good and has a good home dashboard. One thing that is missing is an email to alert when you are low. It would be good to set you own value, say 10%, to which we get an email when the tank only has 10% left.
Also another feature that would be useful is to share with another user, for example my wife could have her own login to view the tank which I approved to share with her.

Good but could be great with a few key improvements!
We’ve been using the application for just over a year and has been working great. In particular the average daily consumption and predicted empty are particularly useful.
-What’s missing most for me is the ability to download historical data to a csv file or similar.
-Linked to the above it would be used to compare consumption over multiple years not only 12 months.

Odd non-standard UI, but works. Could do with smarter notifications.
I used to use the Oilpal app which has since closed down. The Kingspan app works as a basic tank monitoring system. However, I do miss the function from Oilpal where it would warn you when your tank level reaches a certain percentage of your choosing.
The Kingspan app only has the option to email you (or send a push notification) on the same day every week, not very smart.
Also, the UI is non-standard for iOS and has slightly odd text/form entry, not a fatal issue but slightly weird.
The support link on the App Store also leads to a 404 on the web site.

Need better facilities
I like the app and find it much easier to monitor my oil tank level.
I have given 3 stars because I t think it needs two features to make it 5 star:
1. Allow user to set their own warning levels and optionally only display them once not every time the level data is received;
2. Write the level readings, date, etc., to a log that can be downloaded and analysed using standard tools such as spread sheet.
This second point is needed because the daily usage figure seems to be based on all the previous data collected but would be more useful if it could be limited to, say, monthly as oil usage in my case is much less in the summer than winter.
Many thanks.
Steve

Good, with one flaw
Fantastic for remote readings, which it does perfectly.
However, the average daily use figure is completely wrong, being nearly 2l per day when we use less than 1l per day. The average figure also remains unchanged when switching between 1/3/12 month views. There was no response from support when I reported this problem.
So a good app, but not as good as it should be.

App is still broken
The history tab of the app is still not showing data and logs me out when I tap on it.
Please fix this. It’s been over a year since it worked. The last update messed up so much of the app.
Also Think there are other issues as my tank has been showing 742l remaining for about 2 months now. The reason for buying your brand of tank was for this sensor capability but if it doesn’t work then I would’ve gone with a different brand

Response from developer
Hi, please contact customer support at sensor@kingspan.com and this will be investigated.
Unreliable- lacks support
When it works- great! Should be such a reliable piece of tech. However, the USB receiver seems to lose connection quite regularly and then can’t re-connect without a physical power cycle. (My 2.4ghz network access point is in the same room, about 4m away. I have another 2.4ghz device -radiator element- about 20m away through three walls that has no issue connecting.)
The Kingspan app could give more information when it can’t receive data; is there an issue with communication with the tank sensor or with the USB receiver. My tank is 15m away from the receiver, direct line of sight other than the exterior wall of the house obviously; shouldn’t be any issue with reception (there wasn’t on my old Watchman).
Right now, I haven’t received a tank update for four days, but the LED on the receiver is green- all good supposedly.
So difficult to troubleshoot, and there is no response from Kingspan to support. Will happily update this review if this can be resolved.

Not bad - works ok most of the time
Not bad, app sometimes hangs and needs to be deleted and reinstalled to start working again. Biggest issue is erroneous readings. It would be great if you can delete incorrect readings, at the moment I have 1 bad reading that is badly affecting my ‘litres per day’ number in the app, making this useful metric completely useless
