Great App- Need Apple Watch Compatibility

App works great as you would expect from any Grilla product. I would like to see two improvements. 1. The notifications sound is just the native iPhone alert and is too short and not loud enough to alert you on an overnight cook. Need that sound to be customizable. 2. Need Apple Watch compatibility.

Does drop Wi-Fi

Overall it’s a pretty good app when it works. Unfortunately it does drop Wi-Fi often like others have said. It usually reconnects during a cook but it’s quite annoying when it takes quite a while to reconnect.

Non-functional

I am sorry I opted for the wi-fi version of the Chimp as the app will not work. Constantly disconnecting though it has a strong signal. At the moment the app is completely frozen with no way to restart except to remove and download again and I’ve done it multiple times now. As others have said, support blames it on my signal but my signal is plenty strong. They need to upgrade their software or get rid of the wi-fi altogether. This has been a waste of money.

Poor connectivity

Wifi continues to disconnect and not provide updates. Wifi not the issue as signal is strong. App needs major upgrading

WiFi App Does Not Work Consistently At All

I am having the same problems as everyone else. I can go through a reset and get it to work, but the next time I try to use it, it won’t connect.

Today, all my inputs are gone (grill name, etc…). Had to get smoking, so I’ll fool with it tomorrow.

The grill is literally 10’ from a WiFi extender, so it is not my connection. I paid extra to get the WiFi…what a waste of money. Should have gone with a Camp Chef, just sayin’….

Features

My review of the app is based on some features I feel are missing. First, I would like a notification sent to my phone when the internal temperature from the probe is met. Also, I feel it is important to know which flavor pellets are currently being using in the hopper. I’m not sure if updates can be “pushed” to the computer in the grill itself via its internet connection capability but it would be helpful to know of a means to do so. Also, more frequent updates to the Grilla Grills app is always a plus.

Wi-Fi connectivity

I too am experiencing Wi-Fi connectivity issues I even upgraded my home Internet to gig speed mesh net work and my grill still has a hard time connecting or staying connected.

This app is useless

I’ve now had the grill for a couple months and still have yet to be able to use the Wi-Fi connect even once. It’s gotta be the app. The grill will say it has a Wi-Fi connection, yet the app says there is no connection. It’s not my Wi-Fi range since other devices connect easily to my router from the same distance. After multiple back and forth with customer service, including screenshots, they simply seemed to have given up. I’m really starting to regret the premium price I paid for this grill.

Response from developer

Thanks for this feedback, but please do not give up trying to work with our customer service team on this issue. The number of people that aren't able to get their application to work is exceedingly slim, and the issues are always specific to that persons network. It may take us some trial and error to figure out what the roadblock with your network is, but we will not stop working with you until we find a fix.

Stay away

This is the worst app I have ever tried to use. If the app and grill don’t connect to the WiFi then it’s something else wrong with the grill.

Don’t believe the hype. The Customer service is terrible and this app only matches that.

Old technology…..if you are downloading this, pack the grill back up and return it. Save the frustration.

Response from developer

This is very strange to see, as a team, we are absolutely on top of any and all customer service requests. As a family-owned business, it's one of the most important things to us. As far as old technology, that's simply not true. This application was developed recently, and is kept up to date. If you're referring to the fact that our app uses 2.4ghz band WIFI, that was a conscious decision. The majority of households in the U.S. still have 2.4ghz connections, and those connections penetrate through walls better, therefore providing a far more stable and consistent connection to the app. This is clearly marked in the product information for the grill.

WiFi is a joke

Don’t buy their grills if WiFi is a selling point for you. It’s not reliable. Mine won’t even connect despite hours upon hours of messing with the router, network, etc. customer support just links the faq
