  • The most useless and weirdest app to learn a language

In the beginning, they said just listen and you will learn. Ok, understand this kinda method exists but not in this app situation. It's more like a quiz method where you listen and check yourself if you really know the language. But let's say people know the language, why would they download the app just to be sure that they really know the language, doesn't make sense. I came to learn and not just to seat and listen to that monotone not interactive audio voice of a student who decided to come and check if she/he really knows the language. This app is the most useless app I've ever tried.

  • Truly the best language-learning app i’ve ever used

I never, eeeever write reviews of apps, if i’m honest- but i am so absolutely grateful to have come across this project and felt like i had to say something in promotion of it.

I’ve taken spanish for the past six years, most of which were in classes in under-funded and overlooked public school language programs, which ignited a hunger in me for engaging language classes, while also leaving me feeling as though i had very little direction for how to find that and little clarity as to what that looked like.

Over the past few weeks, i’ve realized that THIS program, is what that looks like. The spanish that had been swept under an old rug in a forgotten corner of my brain has been illuminated by the wonderful lessons available in this app. Not only am i able to recall old lessons I thought had been lost on me, I’m also finding that what language transfer does that’s absolutely invaluable is create an incredible flow between one’s intuition and the information provided.

Unfortunately I’m still not very eloquent in english so everything i thought i was saying in this review is pretty mushy and garbled, but nonetheless if any prospective language-students are thinking of downloading this app, give it a try!!!! you’ll never revisit duolingo again

  • The same as all the other audio lessons

The lessons in this app just make me feel bad about myself and my inability to learn languages.
After the early lessons, the instructor goes so quickly through so many different words and concepts it’s impossible to keep up.

Listening to audio lessons is a poor way to learn a language and sadly this doesn’t change that. The only differentiator for these is that he explains some interesting history and “reasons why” for each language.

  • Brilliant language learning tool

Perfect free resource for language learning. The language library is limited to to select languages, but the courses are highly effective. I’ve used Babbel, Duolingo, and Memrise (among others) and honestly the tools given by this program are the only ones that have stayed with me. The secret seems to be that you aren’t given the correct answers and expected to reiterate them. Instead, you are given the tools to figure out and execute what you want to say.

    Would love an iPad version!

  • Hidden secret

By far this has been the best app for me to learn German (outside of Pimsleur) I was struggling with it and by no means am i a monolingual. I had years of French and I even learned Croatian and Indonesian on my own. I speak Filipino and Ibanag at home so I’m not new at all to learning languages. This has been the most natural and easiest to follow. I wish I had used this prior to my trip to Austria. I highly recommend that you get on it and start listening!

  • Great App!

This is a great app! I’m currently using it to study Swahili. I love how in detail the lessons are and how they are taught at a realistic pace. My only suggestion would be maybe that the lessons be properly titled. For example instead of “Lesson 12”, title it “Prepositions”. Sometimes I want to go back to a specific grammatical lesson and have trouble getting back to it quickly without clicking through numerous other lessons while trying to find it. Even without that though, still would highly recommend.

  • The Best Language App in the store

Without a doubt the best app to learn languages that doesn’t focus on ads, premium plans, friendly matching games to make it easier for the user, etc. I love everything that creator stands for with this app. The only criticism is that sometimes my progress saves incorrectly and it would start me on a previous lesson and I don’t remember the exact lesson number I left off on. But with this being a completely free app I don’t mind. Download this app.

  • The BEST Digital Language Resource!

I’ve tried about every language app out there and this is the best for the following reasons:
    1) Completely free with no unlocking of “premium subscription” needed.
    2) Doesn’t require looking at the screen. I can listen without wasting more time glued to my phone.
    3) Real people speaking as opposed to robotic AI or only text.
    4) Teaches thought processes as opposed to forcing me to memorize grammar and vocabulary.
    5) Less pressure. All lessons are available from the start, so I can skip or listen again. I can also easily access them all in one place.
    6) Fun. It doesn’t need fancy graphics or a system for a “streak” to keep me motivated. Learning on this app is so easy that it doesn’t feel like a chore.

  • Add a Unmark as Finished button

I’m still quite new to the app but so far I’ve already learned certain things I never understood about the language I’m learning. I like the way they teach. The only thing I’d say to make this better is to add an “unmark” button. Because sometimes I accidentally click a lesson and it counts it as listened when I haven’t yet played it so I get lost as to which lesson i am on. Besides that it is good.

  • Brilliant and simple

This app is soooo basic yet it’s this best language learning app I’ve used. With this app you can ACTUALLY learn how to form and comprehend the language your learning. (This style of learning isn’t for everyone maybe… but IT’S WORTH A TRY!!)

Make sure this isn’t the only app you’re using tho, use Duolingo or some other app for learning how to read and write… if that matters to you
